Oculus is a world leader in the design of virtual reality systems. We are currently seeking innovative researchers with a passion for technology to push the state-of-the-art for hardware at our research location in Redmond, WA. This role is focused on developing advanced hardware-software solutions to solve some of the fundamental problems in hardware. The position is a full-time position and requires a PhD in mechanical engineering, applied physics, or a related field, and a background in haptics.

Develop novel hardware-software solutions to push the state-of-the-art of haptic testbeds
Collaborate with the larger Oculus Research team to develop experiments and concepts that advance the entire project
Mentor MS/PhD interns and collaborate with external academic groups to advance our research goals
Publish research results in top-tier journals and at leading international conferences
Minimum Qualifications
PhD in mechanical engineering, applied physics, or a related field
Background in haptics
Expertise in applied math and human perception
Ability to define user studies
Experience with both hardware and software system design
