The Executive Director provides leadership for the accounting group’s Center for Financial Reporting and Management (CFRM). The goal of CFRM is to bring practitioners, faculty, and students together around the broad issues of financial reporting and managerial accounting. This is accomplished through the sharing of research ideas, the offering of educational seminars, and by bringing outside constituents together with promising students

Responsibilities
Responsibilities of the executive director include (1) supervising the center’s current activities, (2) developing new activities consistent with the center’s mission, (3) engaging in fundraising activities, (4) interacting with outside constituents, including accountants, management consultants, and investment bankers, in order to inform them of, and involve them in, the center’s current activities and to solicit suggestions for future activities, (5) interacting with undergraduate accounting students and managing the Berkeley Charter of Professional Accounting (BCPA) program. There may be the possibility for part-time teaching of accounting classes in the undergraduate program in association with this position.

• Directs and administers an independent program with complete administrative and programmatic responsibility.
• Has primary responsibility for all aspects of the Center
• Facilitates efforts of various departments, managers and outside constituencies to ensure interdisciplinary collaboration.
• Develops and maintain relations with CFRM’s external supporters, sponsors, and other key stakeholders.
• Identifies and pursues funding opportunities and revenue streams. •
• Manages Financial and HR resources. Assesses program's effectiveness, and recommends changes to program's content, policies and procedures accordingly.
• Develop and measure KPIs to assess the program’s effectiveness
• Managing the BCPA program, and participating in short term and long term planning for the BCPA program.
• Oversee professional conferences/events related to the center.
Required Qualifications
• Academic background and teaching experience in the accounting discipline.
• Knowledge of administrative, budgetary, human resources and financial principles and practices.
• Advanced oral and written communication skills.
• Advanced ability to think creatively and independently on concepts requiring advanced analytical skills.
• Advanced interpersonal skills and ability to work with diverse groups to achieve results, including global groups
• Advanced ability to work collaboratively with internal and external peers and managers.
• Fundraising experience.

Education/Training:
• Advanced degree in accounting or related area and/or equivalent experience/training; CPA certification is desirable.
