Director Web Tier Application Development ADP Roseland

ADP is hiring a Director of Web Tier Application Development. The Director will oversee team application development activities and is responsible for new development and/or maintenance of software products, features, components and tools related to the delivery of services that are part of Web Tier Charter. This person will direct both project and functional management efforts during the software development lifecycle.

Collaboration with other development related functional areas such as architecture, systems analysis, product assurance, and project management to ensure products meet high quality standards and that available time, capital, human, technological, and information resources are optimized. Participation in setting of and tracking against departmental and overall project schedules. Staffing management including: hiring of full time and contingent personnel, career planning, training, and performance management. The Director will also participate in long range strategy, planning, prioritization, and scheduling for the product and department work flow.

RESPONSIBILITIES:



Directs one or more Agile development groups in the successful design, development, implementation and maintenance of applications. Orchestrate SDLC processes and allocate resources in accordance with priorities.
Effectively interacts with key stakeholders including Business Analysis, Product Assurance, Product Management, Product Marketing, and business partners in the development of specifications and the creation, testing and implementation of system products.
Responsible for managing one or more critical business initiative efforts. Provides and administers standard procedures and principles for the department for both personnel and technical issues.
Directs the development of procedures and policies related to applications development and maintenance. Lead and monitor SDLC for effectiveness & productivity. Participates in key project reviews and organizational activities.
Ensures that all projects meet time and budget constraints while ensuring that specifications are met and high quality products are delivered.
Effectively manages Associate performance; attracts and retains key talent; leads team in manner that results in highly engaged Associates.
Keeps up to date on technological changes, especially with regard to job-related languages, operating systems, tools and methodologies. Stays current with skills required for job assignment and progression to further knowledge, skills and abilities.
Effectively demonstrates position-appropriate business, people and market leadership as defined in ADP's Leadership Expectations model.


QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

BS/MS degree.
5-7 years managing programming and analysis development teams in an Agile development environment
10+ years of software engineering/development experience, specifically at least 5 years of experience in design and development of Java based web applications
Required Technologies: Java 7+, JUnit
Key Technologies: Hibernate, Angular JS, JavaScript, IOC containers, Spring, JQuery, HTML5, CSS3
Application Servers: Tomcat
Tools: Eclipse, DVCS, Mercurial a plus
10+ years Database Experience: SQL, PL/SQL, Oracle
5+ years' experience with Web Services (REST or SOAP)
Experience with object-oriented design and analysis
Experience with the complete software development lifecycle; experience with agile methodologies (Scrum, XP)
Experience with test driven development (TDD), continuous integration/continuous delivery

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Preference will be given to candidates who have the following:
Angular 2.x and TypeScript
Experience with DoJoDijit
Experience with Docker and Micro Service Architectures
Good verbal and written communication skills. Ability to author technical and application design and issue documents, conduct technical and application presentations to technical and non-technical staff
Project manager experience and certifications
Knowledge and/or experience with HR domains
Experience collaborating with Senior Technical Staff
