Purpose
Manage and oversee adidas’ Soccer Sports Marketing strategic partnerships and develop, through collaboration with retailers and product teams a yearly strategic plan around league partnerships (MLS, Champions, FIFA in the US, Federations) which combines all disciplines.

Key Accountabilities

Develop the strategic business plan key partnerships that include: business-to-business and ensure alignment of Sports Marketing, Go-To-Marketing, Retail Marketing, Sales and Marketing Communications for the NCAA business. Develop a Sports Marketing Organization that is dynamic and can adapt to changing business landscape. Lead the go-to-market process; facilitating information flow across functions, consolidate and create final presentation for GTM each season. Position and leverage adidas with the best soccer symbols and programs to excite consumers about our brand image and superior product innovations. Use Sports Marketing partners as the authentic stage to present our brand and product innovations to consumers. Work with Retail Marketing in developing plans to help promote the sell in and sell thru of product within MLS licensed channel. Maintain adidas reputation and build long term partnerships with players/leagues/organizations at all levels. Negotiate all new and renewal soccer contracts, ensuring both adidas and university interests are maximized. Ensure all decisions and actions help drive the overall marketing goal and ultimately maximize the impact of our message to consumers. Ensure team members are maximizing revenue streams with each school Lead and inspire a cross-functional team to achieve business objectives and personal goals by setting clear and measurable objectives, coaching and developing their functional and relationship skills, and owning career progression planning for the team, maximizing the performance of each team member. Approve and manage budget within authorized signing limits: process purchase orders, requisitions, contract payments, travel and invoices; ensure budget adherence.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities

Extensive knowledge of professional and amateur rules and regulations. Advanced knowledge of MS Office applications (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word). Strong business acumen in channel distribution, net sales, margin, profit and inventory. Holistic thinker – can establish and drive end-to-end strategies and initiatives for the brand and categories. Ability to present effectively to groups, including members of all organizational levels, and gain collaboration for strategic level planning. Ability to think strategically, synthesize complex data and develop innovative solutions. Ability to exercise independent judgment and decision making skills Ability to deliver effective and persuasive presentations that support business decisions. Ability to successfully influence decisions and outcomes both internally and externally, while maintaining healthy, productive, successful relationships. Intermediate financial knowledge and skills, and the ability to leverage this for business planning and budgeting. Strong leadership and coaching skills, and the ability to capitalize on and apply these skills to create highly productive and highly engaged teams of 10+ members. Basic knowledge of footwear/ apparel construction and/or production, and an understanding of advertising material production and design. Ability to travel year round, extensively during peak periods.
Qualifications

Four year college or university degree, preferably in Marketing. Minimum 7-8+ years related experience; sports marketing experience preferred. Product marketing experience highly desired. Equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be substituted for degree. Experience managing and leading a team required.
