Director Medical Affairs Gastroenterology MD Pfizer Collegeville

The Director, Gastroenterology will develop long-term relationships with a wide variety of key healthcare stakeholders and customers to include Medical Groups and key opinion leaders in order to demonstrate clinical and economic value of Pfizer’s tofacitinib in the treatment of ulcerative colitis and potentially other GI diseases. These activities are implemented to help inform HCPs and formulary decision-makers through medical presentations, pharmaeconomic analyses, and outcomes evaluations along with MOS and FMD colleagues. Additional customer collaborations are built with the goal of aligning corporate medical priorities with the specific needs of the customer to advance the quality of patient care in areas of mutual interest, to identify provider and/or patient knowledge gaps, and areas for quality improvement interventions. They will develop, in conjunction with GI team members, an advanced perspective of the evolving clinical and healthcare landscape of gastroenterology.

The Director will utilize his/her understanding of clinical and patient-directed gastroenterology issues to help assist Pfizer and GMA on most strategic approach to launch of tofacitinib in ulcerative colitis. The Director will also provide Pfizer brand teams with customer and clinical insights to assist in informing Pfizer strategies on critical GI health issues and facilitate the development of customer-focused tools and medical communications to support patient access to quality medicines.

Responsibilities

1. Strategic input into presentations of Pfizer GI data and implementation of strategy into RC and MRC approved materials
2. Responsibility for development of life cycle management strategy with Senior Director, GI through development and approval of proof of concept studies in GI diseases and clinical interactions with KOLs
3. Experience with content approval for promotional materials
4. Cross functional efforts with constituents from Commercial, MOS, FMD, GH&V, RWD
5. Ability to plan and lead successful advisory boards, congress-related symposia
6. Ability to contribute to scientific, long-term life cycle planning and orphan indications
7. Responsible for publications that will help inform clinical gastroenterologists on the safe and effective use of Tofacitinib

Qualifications

MD with 10 years of experience in either the pharmaceutical industry , clinical practice or the two combined; >3 years in gastroenterology a plus
Knowledge of pharmaceutical space in gastroenterology
Experience in clinical development or Phase IV/IIR trial management a plus
Relationship builder within and without Pfizer
Team oriented for success
