Director IT Telecom Services Best Buy Richfield

Director of IT - Telecom Services will be responsible for the strategic transformation and operational support of Enterprise-wide voice, video, and carrier systems, including oversight of these services in approximately 1,400 locations. This role will be responsible for creating and leading a collaborative team responsible for testing and turn-ups of complex voice and data services for the enterprise. Collaboration and building strong, cross-functional partnerships across business teams, finance, IT governance and other departments within and outside of IT are critical to ensuring optimal performance while maintaining compliance with Best Buy standards and timelines. This leader will be responsible for assessing the current state of Telecommunications Services and providing strategic direction on the transformation of service in line with industry trends and the evolution of technology.

Key Responsibilities of this role include:

Team Management and Leadership
Oversee the performance and hiring of engineers, analysts and managers on the team
Create a collaborative, team oriented environment that fosters development and career growth
Oversee third-party vendor supporting Infrastructure Platform Design
Oversight of the following:
Break / fix, ticket and incident management and maintenance
Moves, adds, changes and removals
Web/video conferencing and concierge services
Scoping, designing and managing new telephony projects
Evaluations, upgrades, migrations and new systems
Providing voice, video and carrier expertise to assist with business solutions and decisions
Vendor and contract management
Telco services and circuits management
Complex and high-capacity circuit installations
Global responsibility for all carrier/Telco billing, processing and analysis

Work closely with Enterprise Customer Care to provide solutions in support of contact/call centers

Basic Requirements:
12 or more years of technical expertise with demonstrated progression of responsibilities within telecom services and technology
10 years of technical expertise and responsibilities in carrier services
10 or more years of direct people management with specific focus on managing highly technical teams
8 or more years of managing partner / vendor relationships
8 or more years of Experience in voice platforms focusing on Cisco and Avaya systems
5 or more years of experience transforming telecom services within a large corporation
and being a change agent
8 or more years managing project financials and resource allocations
5 or more years of experience in unified messaging in both business and contact center environments

Preferred knowledge and skills:
Broad knowledge of major infrastructure services including platforms, voice, network and
Web/Conferencing services
Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent Industry Experience
IT Process Engineering experience is a plus
Working knowledge of SDLC
