YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The primary responsibilities of this role, Director, Commercial Analytics are to:
The Director, Commercial Analytics, is the leader of the three advanced analytics Centers of Excellence (Field Force Analytics, Marketing Analytics, Managed Markets Analytics) as well as Owner of the cross-BU process "Call Plan Creation."
The incumbent is also the contract owner for retained analytics workbench vendor as well as for the Information Visualization vendor.

The Director, Commercial Analytics, is a high-profile role, recruited to lead a team of highly skilled and specialized individuals generally focused at mid-range but sophisticated cross-portfolio analyses, including Sales effectiveness evaluation, Marketing program return analyses, Discount and rebate ROI assessments, etc.
Such efforts typically involve the following:
Formulation of business question and subsequent articulation of hypotheses and analytical programs, including experiments and pilots (and relevant KPIs).
Guidance and leadership in data modeling and preparation.
Oversight of analyses, e.g., predictive models, ROI analyses.
Development of insights, conclusions, and recommendations.
Close collaboration with other teams, e.g., Brand teams, Managed Markets, Commercial data team.
Incumbent is also Process Owner of "Call Plan Creation," cross-brands, and performs continuous improvement efforts of this process on an annual basis.
Business Insight Department – Bayer U.S. Pharma. The Business Insights department is the cross-portfolio Center of Excellence for Primary Market Research, Commercial Analytics, Commercial Reporting, and Commercial Data Strategy for Bayer’s inline U.S. pharmaceuticals. The portfolio covers Cardio-Pulmonary, Hematology, Neurology, Oncology, and Women’s Healthcare, and includes category-leading therapies and innovative products such as Adempas, Betaseron, Kogenate, Mirena, and Xofigo. The Business Insights department is also the owner of the cross-brand annual planning process as well as of Bayer’s U.S. Pharma Product Launch Exchange. Members of the Business Insights department generally bear a blend of specialized quantitative and healthcare competencies and skills, typically recruited from focused health research, economics, or analytics functions of other players in the industry, from leading management consulting firms, and from within Bayer. After their tenure within Business Insights, team members often move on to roles in global functions, to brand marketing roles, or to Finance.

Required Qualifications:

Post-graduate degree (Master’s/Ph.D.) in Health-Economics, Statistics, Management Science, Business, Marketing, or related field OR Bachelor’s degree in above mentioned field combined with preference for MBA from globally leading school.
10+ years of overall full-time work experience, of which 5+ years of relevant experience in healthcare (including pharma) commercial analytics (statistical modeling, ROI computations, marketing mix, etc.) AND the most recent 3+ years full-time employed in U.S. healthcare.
Strong knowledge of the US Healthcare environment across multiple segments and brands pertaining to Bayer’s global business.
Record of professional success, demonstrated through above average performance reviews, promotions, and relevant "extracurricular" activities/ engagements.
Strong analysis and synthesis skills, including experience in facilitating insight generation.
Thought leadership as expressed and displayed on leading industry panels, speaker engagements and/ or widely recognized publications.
Comprehensive and in-depth knowledge of, and experience with relevant pharmaceutical data sources including sales data sources such as IMS, SourceRx, laptop/iPad detailing, Specialty Pharmacy data, formulary data, etc.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, as demonstrable in oral management presentations, succinct Powerpoint stories and layout, as well as structured syntheses and recommendations.
Effective project management skills, as demonstrated by on-time, on budget project delivery.
Demonstrated leadership skills, including team leadership, thought leadership, and leadership awareness.
