The Windows & Devices Business Development team is tasked with identifying and executing on growth opportunities for Microsoft’s More Personal Computing business. We drive and lead commercial partnerships and acquisitions. We are looking for a Senior Director to lead the team responsible for product-related business development activities that deliver value to large and mid-sized commercial and public sector customers.

As a Senior Director of Business Development, you will be responsible for four key areas: Collaborate on Business Strategy. Collaborate with relevant Microsoft teams, including Engineering, Marketing, Finance, Corp Strat, Corp Dev, etc., to facilitate, structure and define business strategy, including how we take our products to market in unique and differentiated ways through partners. Enterprise security and manageability are two key areas this position will focus on. Translate Strategy into Action. Define and prioritize business development activities necessary to successfully execute against and accelerate the WDG business strategy. Structure deal and negotiation strategies, lead negotiations with senior corporate leaders from around the globe, passionately drive deals to closure, and manage a team of business development professionals that perform the same activities.

This position will play a key role in developing Microsoft’s enterprise business in China. Communicate and Manage. Influence and communicate with executive management to secure buy-in and approvals at all stages of the strategic deal process, and ensure effective, efficient decision-making. Track and manage effective post-close deal execution. Professionally manage key strategic industry partnerships. Engage the Industry. Engage with industry counterparts, customers and influentials to proactively identify emerging opportunities, including engagement with the VC community, start-ups, corporate leaders, and thought leaders.

Successful candidates will demonstrate:
-Enterprise business and market development expertise with a deep understanding of business model development and partnership strategy and a general knowledge of intellectual property, channel development, marketing, sales, services, and engineering processes.
-Expertise in structuring, negotiating, and managing complex commercial deals, including deals with companies based outside the United States.
-Superb relationship and communication skills, including working with all levels from senior executives on down and all functions (such as engineering, marketing, sales, services, finance and legal).
-Deep understanding of the competitive landscape in enterprise computing and an ability to navigate an industry that is constantly evolving with a high degree of ambiguity.
-Commitment to Microsoft’s cultural values: a growth mindset, customer-focus, diversity and inclusion, and collaboration.
-Ability to lead cross-disciplinary virtual teams and driving key business development initiatives from creation to implementation in partnership with senior Microsoft executives.

To be considered, candidates should have:
-A demonstrated track record of building and nurturing diverse, high performing teams.
-A proven track record of driving successful business development/corporate development transactions and alliances.
-12+ years of business experience in high-tech.
-Ability to communicate with and influence senior executives, both within Microsoft and with partners. -Highly developed quantitative and analytical skills to ensure sound, data-driven decisions.
