Ensure all deliverables required from the group, internally and externally, are met in an efficient and timely manner.
Identify opportunities to constantly improve the quality of thinking applied to concepts that are developed and presented to prospective and existing clients.
Responsibilities:
Evaluation and Ideation: Analyze a client's marketing challenge, craft/author the creative approach, lead a team of individuals to devise relevant marketing programs, conceive and explain specific tactics that complete the ideas. Must combine exceptional listening skills with a deep understanding of the client, its objectives and Pierce's always evolving capabilities to full assess the client's needs and possible solutions to recommend.
Craft pitch presentations: Write content and work with other Pierce colleagues to assemble the pitch presentation materials. Work with the Creative Director and Creative Department on visual elements that effectively communicate program concept.
Present: Represent the agency on live (phone, stand-up) pitch presentations to clients.
Leadership: Responsible for taking charge to deliver a high quality product on time and on strategy.
Collaboration: It is critically important that the Strategy Director knows how to work well with others at all times, including under time-pressures and stress. Must have high self awareness to know when to lead and when to follow depending on the nature of the project and the stakeholders involved.
Investigator: Must be a self-motivated inherently inquisitive person who is constantly asking "why?" and creating "what if...?" questions; and undertakes the steps to answer and effectively explain the responses. Must also know when "enough is enough" and have the fortitude to suspend the inquiry when necessary to meet deadlines.
Creative Problem Solver: Conceiving the expected solutions is a given for this job, and to succeed in this position the candidate must conceive of creative solutions that are not as obvious but are on strategy and simply ingenious.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Communications, Creative Writing, Advertising, or English
5+ years agency experience (experiential or event marketing preferred); some hands-on experience in executing campaigns is preferred
Proficient with MS PowerPoint and Word
Must be an articulate, charismatic and skilled presenter
Confidence in delivering concise and compelling copy-writing is critical
Must have a solid understanding of brand marketing (i.e. brand positioning, marketing mix, brand benefits, brand identity, communication/messaging strategies)
Competitive spirit and strong worth ethic. Must be willing to do what it takes to deliver high caliber results day in and day out
