As a Solution Sales Manager of Microsoft’s Application Platform business, you will take a leadership position in the NY Metro District responsible for the management of a high performance sales and technical team. Application Platform Manager Responsibilities:
• Lead a high performance team. Ensure Technology Specialists & Solutions Sales Specialists create and execute business plans to maximize growth, exceed revenue goals and drive customer/partner satisfaction.
• Ensure the Technology Specialists & Solution Sales Specialist create and evangelize Optimization Maturity Model Category Playbooks to deliver personal & district readiness, identify workload & product solutions, identify competitive plans, and provide customer targeting scenarios.
• Lead a team of technical and business resources to help customers evaluate solutions based on the Microsoft platform. Solution selling and alignment around a MIT/Gartner based application maturity model will be core to selling strategy.
• Drive customer and partner satisfaction through each interaction of the team, extended community and personal involvement.
• Drive the NY Metro District?s greater Application Platform community (Specialist Team, Business Marketing Organization, Developer & Platform Evangelism, and Microsoft Technology Center teams).
• Drive the Application Platform Partner Account Manager and closely align partners to your business. Align the team with industry and horizontal ISV solutions.
• Connect Enterprise customers and partners back to corporate based product groups to provide feedback.
• Develop and maintain executive level relationships and assist in the closing of competitive sales opportunities.
• Provide strategic direction and high level marketing and technical support across all channels for the geography. You will work with the Application Platform District Marketing Manager (DMM) on strategy, customer investment and customer targeting.
• Present system strategy, data platform, SaaS, SOA and client server solutions to customer executives with an emphasis on meeting business needs in support of district goals.
Requirements:
• Sales and Business Management - Demonstrated leadership of a sales team. Ability to develop and grow a business and meet or exceed YOY revenue goals and commitments.
• Technical Sales Management - Proven skills and experience managing technical resources balancing the delivery of short term objectives while building a solid base for long term growth. People Leadership and Development Experience - Proven skills and experience in hiring and building highly motivated, extraordinarily talented sales and pre-sales technical teams. Consultative Selling Experience - Proven success in meeting sales targets with enterprise customers, working knowledge of solution-selling strategies and tactics and business value selling. Responsible for building strong executive contacts/business value discussions with CXOs and VP BDM contacts.
• Sales Teamwork - Demonstrated capability to drive a team or One Microsoft. High degree of collaboration with multiple Microsoft sales personnel and Microsoft Partners will be required for success.
• Communication Excellence - Strong written, verbal and presentation skills are a must. Prior
Experience and Qualifications:
• A proven track record with people and team management in a technology sales environment with at least 5 years leading enterprise level sales teams.
• A BA/BSdegree in Business Administration, Computer Science or related discipline with strong experience.
