In Microsoft Services Business Operations (SBO), our goal is to power One Services through a common operating model that simplifies and improves customer and employee experiences. Our team drives a broad range of shared services functions that include Operations, Services Insights, Role Excellence, Business Solutions & Tools, and Readiness for both the Enterprise Services and Customer Support and Services Business.
The Director of Operations Transformation Program Manager is accountable for driving cross-SBO alignment and Enterprise Services decision making on key investment initiatives to ensure that the services delivered across SBO team are effectively aligned towards common goals. A few key tasks of this role include:
• Develop methodology to align requirements & resource demands across transformation initiatives (SDT, Volta, Aurora, others TBD)
• Partner with business teams to assess the impact on upstream and downstream teams
• Frame business tradeoff decisions in a crisp, clear, quantitative manner
• Develop process to surface decisions to appropriate body (SBO, SLT, etc.).
• Run SBO Transformation program review status
• Develop and execute on partner communication strategy and vehicles to keep all relevant parties informed
• Proactively surface, communicate and mitigate risks associated with cross transformation initiatives
Success in this role will require a high degree of collaboration and strategic leadership across Services HQ, SBO, the field, Finance, IT and other key business partners. The successful candidate will have:
• Business Knowledge specific to MS Professional Services
• Experience planning, developing and landing large scale complex IT (ERP experience preferred) investments
• Proven executive maturity and ability to influence leaders and peers without hierarchical controls
• History of being self-starter when dealing with ambiguity
• Excellent communication skills (verbal, written and advanced PowerPoint) with ability to represent complexity in an executive ready format
• Bachelor’s degree required, MBA a plus.
• 10+ years of relevant business experience in Program management.
