As a member of the Audible Studios Acquisitions and Content Partnerships team you will be responsible for acquiring audio rights via licensing deals with authors, agents, publishers and other content creators in North America for production by Audible Studios. You will have P&L responsibility for acquired content and contribute to defining strategic policy development affecting Audible’s overall business. Additionally, you will participate in other business development activities related to Audible Studios content.

Responsibilities:
Structure, negotiate and enter into new deals with content creators, agents, publishers, other rights holders and business development partners
Build relationships with literary agents to acquire audio rights before or at the time of print submission
Grow and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential partners, such as authors, agents, publishers
Track and communicate deal terms within the organization and provide for first line of enforcement of deal terms if necessary
Work closely with other key stakeholders within Audible, such as Marketing, PR, Content Services, and Content Creation to grow the success of Audible Studios titles
Contribute to development and drive strategy related to overall acquisition policy in coordination with other key members of senior management
Coordinate closely with members of the content team at Audible to maintain consistency in messaging and policy
Some domestic travel required
Basic Qualifications

College Degree required, Professional Degree (MBA) preferred
Minimum 7 years’ experience
Strong analytical/decision making and problem solving skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills -- ability to effectively communicate complex concepts and ideas in a simple manner across different levels of an organization
Resourceful self-starter with an independent attitude and focus on excellence
Ability to operate in a high-energy, high-intensity and rapidly evolving environment
Solid organizational and project management skills are also required along with the ability to work with cross functional teams under aggressive deadlines
Preferred Qualifications

Proven success in a content, media rights or digital media department or experience at a digital media company
