At Instagram, the Creation team is focused on inspiring people to capture and share the world’s moments. This includes enhancing the capture, editing, and sharing flows; creative tools like Boomerang and Layout; and R&D efforts. This seasoned Engineering Manager must be product-focused (entrepreneurial background a plus) with a demonstrated mobile development background (full stack a strong plus).
Provide technical and organizational leadership to the Creation Engineering team
Communicate cross-functionally and drive engineering efforts
Hold your own in technical discussions, be a subject matter expert, and have strategic influence
Effectively work with product and design leaders and executives
Requirements
8+ years of relevant work experience including 5+ years of hands-on technical management
Prior experience in at least one of the following: Objective C, C++, Java, Python
Deep experience in Unix/Linux
Demonstrated ability to recruit and manage technical teams, including performance management
Demonstrated experience shipping consumer mobile apps
Demonstrated product sense with a strong command of product metrics
BA/BS in Computer Science (In lieu of degree, 4 years relevant work)
