We're looking for an experienced Consumer Product Marketing lead who is passionate about technology, product development and the live events industry. We build meaningful product experiences for all aspects of the events ecosystem – from helping people discover, share, coordinate and attend events with friends to helping event organizers build awareness, sell tickets and drive attendance to their events.

This team is responsible for end-to-end marketing of Facebook Events to consumers and event organizers globally. The right person to lead this team loves flexing between wearing a CMO hat, building a high performing team, working alongside product and brand teams to aligned strategies and driving execution with excellence. You and your team will be responsible for understanding consumer needs and identifying market opportunities through research, bringing those insights to the product team to influence the roadmap, driving go-to-market planning for launches, and developing lifecycle marketing programs. Together, you will relentlessly focus on driving adoption and bringing to market events products that meaningfully help people connect and spend time with their friends IRL. The ideal lead is both data-driven and creative and thrives on both understanding highly-technical products and crafting compelling marketing programs. They have a strong business sense and are continuously keeping their eye on the market landscape and trends to inform strategy & execution. They know how to effectively influence their cross-functional partners across the company to drive results that are positively impact the business. Though management experience is not required, they are invigorated by the opportunity to manage and grow a high performing team – but also love to sink their teeth into their own individual contributor projects. This is a full-time position based at our headquarters in Menlo Park.
Responsibilities

Serve as thought-leader in Facebook's role in the Events industry, aimed at delivering meaningful value to consumers and event organizers.
Define and implement the vision for the overall, worldwide marketing strategy and plan for Events to consumers and event organizers.
Inspire consumers globally to use Facebook Events through seamless product launches and direct-to-consumer communications with impactful, scaled results.
Lead market assessment, quantitative analysis, qualitative feedback, and represent the voice of the consumer to influence product strategy, driving cross functional alignment when needed.
Build and lead a team of high performing product marketers to develop overall product narratives, to build 6-month marketing strategies and plans, and to execute on these plans with high caliber. Each product PMM lead is responsible for understanding market opportunities, developing GTM plan and product positioning, leading successful product launches, and driving adoption for their product area.
Quarterback comprehensive go-to-market strategy globally to support product launches and scaled adoption. Partner effectively with Product Management to manage comprehensive, cross-functional activities including betas, positioning, policy, launch strategy, PR, and sales/partner collateral.
Lead and collaborate with cross-functional leadership (including Product, Research, PR, Design, engineering stakeholders and more) to deliver world-class product marketing communications.
Tackle complex problems with a strategic mindset, and create thoughtful recommendations and action plans for solving those problems
Requirements

BA/BS degree required, MBA or other relevant advanced degree preferred
8+ years professional experience in a corporate or startup environment
2+ years working in a Consumer Product Marketing capacity (partnered with product management and/or engineering to represent market requirements and with relevant cross-functional partners to support product launches)
Experience in the social media or events industry a strong plus, partnering with product teams to identify and bring to market solutions with clear Consumer benefit
Strong quantitative analytical ability and excellent communication skills
Demonstrated capacity to communicate complex, large-scale concepts clearly and simply
Comfort in a face-paced, entrepreneurial, start-up environment
