The Global Design Studio’s Senior Director of Strategy will develop GDS’ strategic vision by focusing on two target areas: Integrated Travel Experience and Connected Living. Relying on deep business expertise, industry experience and a passion for design, the Head of Strategy will work closely with both the GDS strategy team and other departments to develop a guiding vision for the future that will improve enhance TEAGUE’s brand value and reputation as an industry expert, and improve our offerings for TEAGUE clients.

Who We’re Looking For
A strategic thought leader and skilled diplomat with a vigorous entrepreneurial streak and deep roots in the design world. (Dime a dozen, right?) More specifically, your job is to expand GDS’s strategic competence by continuing to build our design strategy and research capability and to build a business strategy capability focusing on Integrated Travel and Connected Living. You will also lead GDS’ strategic planning process by developing long- and short-range strategies and establishing a business plan, market segmentation, and revenue targets in collaboration with the GDS Leadership Team. In addition, this role develops insights and opportunities for the Forward Product. What does this look like on a day-to-day basis? (We’re so glad you asked.) You’ll be collaborating closely with the Head of Design, Head of Business Development, and Head of Operations; partnering with representatives of the other GDS teams to prioritize opportunities, pitches, and proposals; leading, managing, and mentoring the Strategy team; and executing strategic, business, and staffing plans for the Strategy team (in other words, securing top-notch talent and integrating them seamlessly into the existing team).

With your deft communication skills, you’re adept at bringing disparate points of view into alignment and creating a single, cohesive vision. Experience: MBA or similar and experience in the field of design required; 12+ years in the fields of design and business; 5+ years of design leadership in a senior-level position that demonstrates managerial capability in a multidisciplinary environment; experience overseeing day-to-day operations; aviation and IxD knowledge preferred; a proven track record of successful projects and long-term, strategic relationships with clients
Special skills: Demonstrated account management skills; excellent presentation, communication, and writing skills; excellent project-framing skills; excellent follow-through, organization and prioritization skills; ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 30 percent of the time; regular attendance in the work place
