Director Managed Accounts Business Oversight Fidelity Investments Boston

The Director-Managed Account Business Oversight and Control will work closely with the Vice President – Managed Accounts Business Oversight to provide business oversight and risk management assistance to the Retail Managed Account Programs. This individual will work closely with other Business, Risk and Compliance leaders across the Managed Account end-to-end environment to ensure processes are documented, owned and clear controls are in place and up to date. This individual will also provide oversight to our Managed Account vendors to ensure that corporate and business vendor management standards are met or exceeded.
This position will interface with all levels in Retail and Investment Management (SAI) on behalf of the Managed Account Business. It requires an individual who works well both independently and as part of a larger cross-company group. The role will be involved in various high profile projects that will allow the Managed Accounts business to improve scale, controls and risk reporting. The role will require development of presentations, status updates and improved control/process recommendations on the impact of current products, processes, service issues and new product development efforts.

New Product Development/Product Enhancements/Existing Products:
Identify risk, assess risk, and propose controls and/or mitigation strategies to address risks throughout product/initiative development cycle and daily product & platform support processes
Coordinate with Managed Account business line owners, Distribution, Legal, Risk, Compliance partners throughout the development process and with respect to assessments of existing product/enhancement efforts.
Communicate unmitigated risks of the finished product, service model updates, and enhancements, escalating as necessary.
Incidents:
Provide business oversight support and guidance in the response to incidents and service recoveries arising from process and products and in avoidance of future incidents.
Communication and Awareness:
Communicate significant process and control risks, including development and delivery of oversight reporting.
Vendor Management:
Provide oversight for Managed Account vendors to ensure that business requirements and corporate vendor management standards are met or exceeded.
Work closely with the business and technology support on any necessary enhancements.

Qualifications

Skills/Knowledge:
Develop guidelines and implement programs to improve the overall end-to end control environment of the Managed Account Business
Identify, resolve, monitor and track compliance matters and oversee management of service recovery matters, error reporting, escalation and resolution
Ability to influence key decision makers through a combination of knowledge, reasoning, and relationships
Excellent communications skills and the ability to summarize and present findings in an organized and professional manner
The candidate will be expected to interact with appropriate business partners and be skilled at delivering presentations related to the Managed Account oversight, risk management and control process and program
Must be able to prioritize and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously
Strong self‐starter, relationship builder and strategic thinker
Advanced ability to understand and analyze complex operational and regulatory requirements
Ability to succeed in a deadline‐driven work environment
Education and Experience:
Minimum 7+ years of financial services or operations experience
Strong understanding of the brokerage and investment advisory industry and their products; strong understanding of distribution and servicing IA products
Risk assessment and or control audit experience and/or business unit knowledge, a plus
Advanced degree preferred
