We’re disrupting the transportation world and with that comes the need for more internal global unification. We are currently searching for a Director I, Global Compliance who will work to integrate an effective compliance program and manage for all of Uber. This position reports to the Associate General Counsel, Global Compliance, and is based in Uber’s corporate HQ in San Francisco.
Work directly with Uber’s Associate General Counsel, Global Compliance, to integrate an effective compliance program, including providing employees with clear policies and procedures
Craft high-impact awareness, education, and training for internal client groups
Manage effective and practical compliance counseling and advice
Identifying compliance risks and successfully driving mitigation efforts, and overseeing internal investigations of alleged misconduct
WHAT YOU ARE
Minimum 8 years of experience in private practice, government service, and/or in-house role. Technology and international experience strongly preferred
Law degree from an accredited institution required
Experience with the Foreign Corruption Practices Act and/or comparable anti-corruption rules and regulations; OFAC and other export control laws and regulations; international competition laws and regulations; and global data privacy laws
Superior analytical and legal skills, mature judgment and innovative thinking
Dynamic and resilient individual with the demonstrated ability to make decisions and influence, persuade and build consensus
Demonstrated effectiveness operating in complex organizational environments and self-starter qualities
Familiarity with the global framework affecting the technology industry, such as international laws governing technology, interactions with government institutions and government officials, antitrust and competition issues
Unquestioned integrity and ethics in business and personal conduct
Excellent oral communication and interpersonal skills to inspire and influence employees at every level to embrace compliance initiatives
Fluency in English is required (secondary language skills are highly preferred)
