This role involves leading a global team of clean sheet analysts to provide cost target based on understanding of key trends and market conditions for industry as well as working with cross functional leaders/peers to drive optimized feature trade-off and Design-it-Right in early stage, critical to product planning. -At Define Phase Exit of product lifecycle, engage Front-End planning with Dell Marketing and DELL/ODM Engineering to forecast the cost and help business do feature trade-off
-Own deep understanding on design (Notebook/Desktop/AIO/Enterprise /flat panel monitors/Rugged/IoT) and own the capability to deep dive cost optimization opportunities with Dell/ODM Engineering team
-Utilize insights on manufacturing drivers (E.g., yield, cycle time, equipment utilization) to support DFM (Design for manufacturing) initiatives and ensure accurate cost estimation
-Actively participate in commodity industry and trade associations to build depth and breadth of business acumen
-Build and maintain peer and executive (as necessary) relationships with key decision maker in Marketing and Engineering organization
-Develop and improve process to ensure consistency of cost estimation and enhance working efficiency
-Develop Cost modeling and build cost table for unique and new drivers (E.g. new CMF on ME, premium conn and passive on EE, development resource in NRE drivers, mfg site production MVA drivers)
-Coach, and develop team members to ensure accurate cost estimate from team
Qualifications
Requirements
-Bachelor Degree major in engineering or management and10+ years industry experience in procurement/High Tech or consumer electronics manufacturing or engineering/DFX.
-Leadership and team building experience, and the ability to organize a high performance global commodity team.
-Advanced strategic planning and problem solving skills
-Skilled at influencing others (at different levels of management)Program/project management skills and the ability to gain respect of cross functional organization, create team value in the Org.
-Strong analytical thinking, advanced excel, problem solving skills and ability to analyze complex sourcing decisions
-Financial knowledge related to procurement, understand key metrics of Price/Cost Analysis
-Able to synthesize internal and external subject master expert interview, and implement finding in cost estimation
-Able to effectively communicate to staff, peers, and senior leadership
Preferences
-Industrial or operations related master degree or MBA with strategy consulting background
-Experience with key manufacturing process cost drivers, Industrial know-how, key component supplier pool (ME Parts, IC, Conn, Premium Passive)
-Comprehensive understanding on Consumer Electronic Product design with sense of design vs. cost, able to drive Design to Cost, catch shall-be design intact, and achieve optimal design
-Market research and trend analysis skills
-Activity Fact-Based negotiation skills
-Lean manufacturing ie Six Sigma certification
