The Managing Director of Corporate Security has responsibilities consistent with the essential duties described below. Corporate Real Estate/Corporate Security requires a Managing Director to manage a variety of oversight duties for the firm in San Francisco. This Managing Director will also team with the Corporate Security Vice President to manage, enforce and accommodate security for the executives of the firm, as set forth in the policies and procedures.
What you’ll do:
Far West Region Areas of Responsibility
Provides management direction and control for the SF Executive Floors Security Associate
Provides management direction and control for the Reno Bank Sr. Administrator
Responsible for Threat Awareness and Assessment (law enforcement liaison and iJet)
Conducts investigations on escalated incidents (thefts, violence, intrusions, etc.)
Complete Security Budget Formulation, Performance and Invoice Reviews (W57)
Branch Manager liaison and security oversight (37 branches)
Required to annually complete (at a minimum 10) on site Branch inspections and telephonic inspections for the remaining branches not visited. On-site Branch inspections are on a 4 year rotation.
Core member of SF ERT
Committee/Group Participation (Executive Leadership, Facilities Projects)
Coordinates SF Special Events security measures
Provides oversight of SF security equipment, and acts as onsite technical resource for contractors servicing the security equipment.
Maintenance and yearly update of the Physical Risk Inventory and the Threat Response Escalation Plan.
Management of Global Secure3 contract
Special Events Management and Oversight: San Francisco, Corporate Headquarters
The Managing Director will have the responsibility of providing security, insight and guidance in many of the special events that take place in San Francisco. Security is essential at these events because of national threat postures, firm wide threats, individual personnel threats and other issues involving protests and civil unrest. The Managing Director is instrumental in the development of security planning and execution in the numerous special events that occur. This requires a high attention to liaison skills with the outside government agencies, local government and police authorities. The Managing Director will also be required to be cognizant of the daily “threat picture”.
Development and Maintenance of Liaison with Outside Sources: This position will be responsible for developing liaison with Federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies as well as with Federal, state, and local emergency response groups to ensure the firm is acutely aware of threats and potential threats to the wellbeing of the firm.
Executive Security: San Francisco, Corporate Headquarters
Team with the Vice President of Corporate Security to manage oversight for the firm’s executive staff, to include the Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board. This involves the physical security of the executive floors to include access control from lower floors and the parking garage and manage protocol for non-Schwab visitors to the executive floors.
When warranted and approved, will work with Managing Director of Corporate Security in Denver to plan and provide oversight for individual security for CEO, Chairman and members of the Executive Staff, Board of Directors.
Work in close partnership with the VP of Corporate Security and Managing Director of Corporate Security in Denver to provide resolution for threats to the CEO, Chairman and members of the Executive Staff and Board of Directors. This may involve threatening letters, attempts at personal contact, threats through electronic media, etc.
In high national threat advisories; work in close coordination with the VP of Corporate Security, and Managing Director of Corporate Security in Denver, to coordinate articulated security measures for all members of the Executive Staff to include the CEO, Chairman and others in critical business positions.
Supervisory responsibilities are carried out in accordance with the policies and procedures of the Charles Schwab Corporation, Corporate Real Estate, and Corporate Security and are in compliance with all laws, rules, and regulations applicable to the position.

10+ years in a Corporate Security Environment or Federal, State or local law enforcement experience.
Supervisory experience essential.
