As a member of the Transaction Services practice, you will help clients navigate through complicated transactions and events, from evaluation through integration, in a multifaceted business environment. Operating in a heavily regulated and fast changing industry creates many significant valuation challenges for Power & Utility companies. PwC's Power & Utilities Valuation team has industry depth and technical expertise that reaches across the client organization when it comes to transaction and valuation related issues. The PwC Power & Utilities Valuation team is part of the broader PwC Power & Utilities Deals practice, and, as such, our team has insight into current market trends, merger and acquisition activity, and transaction drivers that are critical in advising our clients on valuation matters. PwC's Power & Utilities Transaction Services specialists assist merchant energy, regulated utility, private equity, and other Power & Utilities industry clients in making informed and empowered investment, divestment, capital market, and reorganization decisions. The PwC Power & Utilities Valuation team serves Power & Utilities industry clients throughout the deal continuum, including strategy valuation, valuation diligence, pre-deal valuation, post-deal valuation, and restructuring services.

The professionals in the Transaction Services Valuation practice work on a wide range of services including business enterprise valuations and intangible and tangible asset valuations for mergers and acquisitions, dispute resolution, financial reporting and tax purposes. Our experts also perform private equity valuations and valuations of financial instruments. We offer valuation services for privately held and public companies, both domestic and international, across a variety of industry sectors.
Position/Program Requirements Minimum Years of Experience: 8

Minimum Degree Required: Bachelor's degree

Minimum Degree Required Major: in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Accounting or related major.


Knowledge Preferred:

Demonstrates proven expertise regarding and/or success in roles leading efforts involving the application of valuation methodology for business entities and intangible assets within the Power and Utilities industry, including use of the Income Approach (e.g., discounted cash flow method), Market Approach (e.g., guideline public company or transaction method), and/or Cost Approach--especially as it applies to the unique valuation-related matters within the industry.


Skills Preferred:

Demonstrates proven thought-leader level abilities and success leading transaction services functions within a professional services firm or corporate finance group performing valuation engagements, which involves proven extensive project management successes and the following areas:

- Applying corporate finance, business analysis, and report writing to create and deliver valuation solutions to the client;
- Providing professional services in the areas of business enterprise valuation, financial modeling, derivatives, impairment testing, purchase price allocation, and/or private equity valuation;
- Leading in-depth client, Power & Utilities industry, market, and competitor research--which includes client-facing discussions and presentations of analyses and results;
- Managing large engagements and presenting related analyses and results;
- Evaluating and understanding potential transactions and their impact on acquirers and sellers;
- Prioritizing and handling multiple tasks within a highly-matrix and demanding deal-oriented environment;
- Leading proposal development and presentation, leveraging acumen in developing business;
- Exhibiting self-motivation and taking responsibility for personal growth and development;
- Conducting research and performing both quantitative and qualitative analyses, particularly for complex transactions;
- Utilizing creative and innovative problem-solving, especially when communicating complex and technical concepts in a manner that is understandable to clients and staff; and,
- Leading complex engagements
