Director Entertainment Marketing UNICEF USA New York

Reporting to the Vice President, Marketing and Communications, the Director will oversee the needs and priorities of the organization by managing the development and implementation of the Entertainment Marketing Department’s Strategic Plan for engaging the entertainment industry, celebrities and influencers alike to advance UNICEF’s mission. The Director must have extensive knowledge of the entertainment, talent, media and corporate industries and highly proficient with strategic outreach, working with entertainment/media companies, talent and/or their representatives. This position will be based in the NYC National Headquarters office.
Key Responsibilities/Outcomes (include but are not limited to):

In coordination with the Corporate Partnerships team, develop and implement strategic entertainment partnerships with entertainment and media companies (film studios, TV networks, digital hubs, record labels, etc.) to support key initiatives and issues at UNICEF.

Oversee relationships and liaise with UNICEF Ambassadors and UNICEF Supporters (high-profile celebrities who hold these titles for the organization), entertainment industry executives, agents, managers, publicists, celebrities, influencers and other high profile talent.

Develop and implement strategic campaigns, proposals, presentations, events, and special projects related to USF’s education, advocacy and fundraising objectives.

Serve in leadership role for the Entertainment Marketing team managing internal relationships across USF and UNICEF.

Manage Entertainment Marketing team projects to execute all logistics and details related to entertainment and celebrity engagement activities for USF.

Generate creative ideas and writing to pitch to potential new business partnerships (in coordinate with the corporate team) with entertainment or talent to support USF campaigns, special events and initiatives.

Work with EM team to develop compelling “asks” and develop evaluations for Ambassadors and celebrities to support USF events and initiatives.

Provide guidance internally on shaping the strategic use of entertainment and celebrities to support USF activities.

Oversee relationship with PR firm who handle media and talent relationship in their scope of work.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 10 years’ related experience

Experience working in talent, entertainment, sports, corporate and media industries

Strong organizational and management skills

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Excellent presentation and negotiation skills

Must have an understanding of fundraising and knowledge of how “celebrity” and events can be used for fundraising purposes

Ability to manage high level relationships within USF, UNICEF and the entertainment industry

Strong supervisory skills

Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with strategic vision as well as attention to details.

Ability to work in a fast paced environment, manage multiple projects and tasks, support a variety of departments, and manage expectations and deadlines

Must demonstrate high level of diplomacy, sound judgment, and discretion when dealing with celebrity/entertainment professionals and situations

Ability to problem-solve and handle difficult/sensitive situations in a timely and appropriate manner

Ability and willingness to work a flexible schedule that includes some weekend and evening commitments, as well as business related travel both nationally and internationally
