In this role, you will be responsible for setting strategic direction and ongoing operation of the Technology Project Management Office (PMO). This includes managing a group of project directors, project managers, portfolio managers, business analysts and other associated PMO roles and leading the team’s successful delivery of governance processes and projects.

In addition, you will:
• Set strategic direction for Technology PMO processes, technology and roles.
• Lead implementation of changes to existing processes, technology and roles in
order to achieve the strategic direction.
• Lead effective management of the project management triple constraint
(scope, schedule, cost) and proactive identification and management of
projects risks and issues.
• Project, program, portfolio and process governance reporting.
• Ensure ongoing compliance with PMO quarterly SOX processes.
• Lead selection and implementation of a new project and portfolio management
application. Develop strong and trusted working relationships with GO-Tech
and business leadership and stakeholders.
• Hiring, objective setting and performance management of a distributed global
team.
• Re-define the role of a technology project manager at Western Union to
provide enhanced business value and linkage to business and technology
strategy.
• Lead and motivate the Technology PMO team based in multiple global
locations.
• Align and integrate the Technology PMO processes with other Western Union
governance frameworks and processes including: GO-Tec
Operations ,Service Delivery Corporate W1 and W2 business planning
processes Finance organization project costing, and financial management
WUBS business planning processes Corporate procurement
Qualifications:
The successful candidate will possess a strong ability to balance strategic direction setting and tactical execution, and have an in-depth understanding of the principles and practices of Technology Project and Portfolio Management.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or Business required. \
MBA or advanced degree desirable.
• Formal program/project management qualifications (e.g. PMP certification).
Demonstrated knowledge and experience with project and portfolio
management concepts.
• 10+ years of progressive technology program and project management
experience.
• Proven leadership abilities with an emphasis on employee engagement,
collaboration and stakeholder management.
• Strong consultative and problem solving skills.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and conflict management skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work with minimal direction and oversight.
