We're looking for an exceptional Director of Software Development to be based in Seattle that can drive strategy, architecture, and implementation for our Apps and Services Teams. These teams are responsible for building new and innovative features in our existing apps as well as creating brand new apps, and the large-scale platforms supporting a diverse range of mobile services.
As Director of Software Development you will:
● Manage teams building high-quality production systems for 50+ million live users
● Drive the strategy, architecture and development of distributed, large-scale platforms
● Work with product team to help build out new features and apps from early phases of product discussions all the way to a complete shippable product
● Join an organization that's passionate about open source, security and openness
● Partner with design and engineering and to create beautiful, functional solutions
● Lead teams that are permanently changing the Android and mobile landscape
To be successful in the role, you should have:
● Extensive experience driving complex Android applications and large-scale backend platforms
● 10+ years of overall engineering experience (several years of coding)
● 5+ years of engineering management experience, preferably including some startups
● Extensive experience with Mobile ecosystems and Android development
● Demonstrated success building large scale platforms supporting a large, active user base.
● Be able to work well with others in a fast paced environment
● Be open minded and excited to learn new things
● A Computer Science or related degree
