Director Notebook Product Management HP Houston

The Director, WW Commercial Notebooks is the primary business leader accountable for the top of the line HP EliteBook 1000 Series portfolio. This Product Management position owns the overall business across all market segments including SMB, Corporate & Enterprise, and Public Sector.
The role includes accountability for the product roadmap for this products line, but goes beyond that to be a true business leader owning the P&L outcomes. This individual will need to plan for and manage through each of the market segments and will include both Direct and Indirect routes to market. A knowledge of HP Notebooks and those of key competitors such as Lenovo and Dell will be key to success, along with prior management experience leading others in the same activities.
The Director will spend time in field helping drive deals to closure working with sales representatives, customers, and partners, making customer-facing presentation skills very important. Travel will range from 15-30% of the time.
The team led by the Director is a team of strong performers, that need strong management and leadership. The team is based in the Houston office, so this position will be based there. This role will be most successful when working in collaboration with the other business units and focusing on customer solutions that include pull-through for HP Displays and Accessories products, software, and services, in addition to the Notebooks.
Metrics for success include market share and achieving the HP financial forecast.

RESPONSIBILITIESINCLUDE:

Drive the EliteBook 1000 Business and Product Roadmap
Understand financial goals and deliver upon them
Grow market share to bring commercial notebooks back to #1 market share leadership
Understand commercial customer segmentation
Drive commercial customer use cases
Identify customer pain points and deliver solutions to address these concerns
Participate in customer market research
Drive current and future product roadmaps
Own Product Management deliverables (MRD, POR, DO, Product Plans)
Understand and introduce new technologies as appropriate for customer segment
Become an expert in the competition, especially Lenovo and Dell.
Analyze Competitive Heat maps
Deliver new product information to Press, Industry Analysts. Gartner Seat holder & Liaison
Deliver required product training
Create White Papers as needed
Manage Product IURs/EEP Program
Drive high region interactions to assist the regions in any way possible to achieve their market share and financial goals

Qualifications

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Masters of Business Administration (MBA) (strongly preferred)
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (preferred) or Business Management
Typically 12-15+ years of professional services experience
Demonstrated successful experience in managing a local team
P&L management experience; moderate size &complexity
