Provide legal advice to HR and managers on all types of employment law matters, including hiring, discipline, and termination, wage and hour rules, disability accommodation, harassment, OFCCP obligations, trade secret protection, investigations, and related litigation
Assist in the development, implementation, and enforcement of company policies and compliance efforts
Provide training to HR and managers throughout U.S. on employment issues and business ethics
Provide general legal advice to Uber’s Corporate groups on commercial agreements and other issues as needed
WHAT YOU ARE
Practicing attorney with 10 or more years experience in labor and employment law in a law firm and in-house legal department.
Proficiency with Federal, California, and other state laws relating to employment matters
Experience with traditional labor law
Substantive knowledge and experience in litigation; trial experience is ideal
Flexibility and willingness to work on a broad variety of legal matters
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and able to establish effective relationships with all levels of management
High integrity, well-organized, and able to manage numerous projects simultaneously
In-house counsel experience required
JD required
