The Director Technical Services directly interfaces with our customers in a specific geographic region on a regular basis to ensure technical services and engineering are delivered in a way that exceeds the expectations of our customers. Active engagement and collaboration with the multiple facets of Gogo is required to be successful, specifically engagement with Regional Presidents to ensure strategy, service levels and expectations are continuously in synchronization. This position is the core driver for high quality service, engineering product satisfaction and is the technical voice of the customer.
As part of the leadership team you will also lead a small highly capable and skilled team of engineers, and technical representatives placed to oversee each customers’ product line from the technical perspective. You must thrive in a past-faced, dynamic environment where collaboration and customer focus should be at the forefront of all work efforts.

Key Responsibilities:
Act as key partner to Regional President during sales process to relay and confirm technical details of Gogo products, certification, installation and production processes
Act as primary technical point of contact for customers during certification and installation processes
Interacts with centralized aircraft engineering team to influence and shape standards, processes and best practices
Develop and implement key strategies to ensure success with customers and teams
Provide customers and Regional Presidents assigned to your region with world class Technical Service for Gogo product lines.
Hire and develop highly skilled and capable Engineers to support the Technical Service regional vision and carry out strategies to exceed customer expectations
Create a high energy team that drives all involved to obsessively exceed customer expectations
Engage and align top talent through strong recruitment, mentoring, hands-on leadership and career management
Create and implement strategies for continuous improvement with Gogo and each customer in your region working collaboratively with relevant cross-functional teams
Qualifications
Strong knowledge in developing aircraft engineering teams
Strong project management leadership background
A track record of successful leadership experiences leading highly skilled engineering teams
An in-depth understanding of aircraft engineering and certification processes
Comfortable in a hangar environment and presenting ongoing project work
Capable of building presentations and presenting information to customers and executives
Capable of extensive travel to install locations worldwide and possess a current passport
Must be willing to take a hands-on approach as needed to ensure projects’ success
Strong communicator and collaborator
Required Experience and Education:
Master’s Degree – Aircraft Engineering or Maintenance Management, or equivalent.
5 + years’ experience in a Director level technical position or equivalent
Proven experience in building high-performance teams
Vast experience in designing enterprise engineering best practices
CAD, Solidworks and FEA experience is preferred to lead the teams
Proven experience in developing and integrating continuous improvement
Solid experience in project management, project planning and budget management
Strong knowledge in both aircraft structural/electrical engineering disciplines
Exposure to satellite communications is preferred
