In this position, you will build and lead a talented team of developers working with several Elemental and AWS products to develop a new service enabling personalized video ad insertion. You will work with product managers, engineering leaders, and customers to define the platform, develop a roadmap, and deliver software that will bring a broadcast quality viewer experience to OTT video.
Build your team of talented software engineers from internal expertise and external recruiting
Deliver functionality using transcoders, packagers, origin and edge servers, and players to enable personalized video ad splicing
Analyze industry specifications and best practices to build interoperability between Elemental products and key partner systems
Collaborate with lead customers, product management and other engineering managers to define product roadmaps
Define and execute on development process to ensure high quality work from your team
Build operational tooling and procedures to support successful production deployments
In the first 6 months, you will:
Become an expert in the video ad insertion capabilities of Elemental products
Hire 2-3 Software Development Engineers to implement your vision for the product
Lead your team through designing, building, testing and shipping a beta release and a GA release of your software
Work closely with at least 2 customers to ensure successful production deployment
Basic Qualifications
A BS in Computer Science or a comparable Engineering discipline
5+ years’ experience in an individual contributor developer role
5+ years’ experience managing teams of software engineers
A proven track record of delivering software, preferably in one of the following: Video streaming technologies, Large-scale services built on Amazon Web Services, Content delivery networks
