Director Export Compliance Honeywell Golden Valley

Job Description:
We are looking for a Director of Export Compliance to help us achieve our goals. You will be working within the Honeywell Automation and Control Solutions (ACS) business supporting its Global Trade group, as well as having direct involvement with and oversight of export-related functions in the ACS Labs. The Labs is the premier technology organization within Honeywell with their primary focus being technology design, growth, innovation, and collaboration across Honeywell.
This position reports to the Assistant General Counsel for the Sensing and Productivity Solutions Strategic Business Unit of ACS, and is responsible for the continued development of the Honeywell ACS export compliance program. This position will lead the export trade function for Honeywell ACS - promoting compliance while driving growth by eliminating barriers to the export of Honeywell products.

Principle Accountabilities
Manage a team of 5 export compliance managers/specialists across ACS.
Drive Honeywell ACS export compliance strategy and process improvement projects.
Ensure compliance with export law and regulations for the ACS engineering community.
Identify key export compliance risks and opportunities globally and initiates action plans in response.
Identify and eliminate barriers to the export of products, e.g. decontrol of products through commodity jurisdiction and commodity classification determinations.
Obtain export licenses and other authorizations on behalf of ACS and the ACS Labs, including CCATS and CJs.
Develop export standards, policies, guidelines and procedures for ACS and the ACS Labs.
Provide expertise on interpretation of export regulations and promotes solutions to export problems.
Support training initiatives by developing materials and conducting/sponsoring seminars.
Oversee compliance self-assessments and site reviews program, and ensures corrective action is taken in response to identified deficiencies.
Global leader for export risk mitigation and escalation point for export problems.
Devise solutions on complex cross-border transactions.
Develop and document processes for export classification and access control including oversight of engineering data tools (PDM, etc.).
Oversee proper classification of technology and drawings subject to export regulations.
Coordinate with Engineering to prevent violations of export regulations.
Coordinate with Engineering, IT, and Security to ensure security of controlled technical data, including the management of foreign person visitors.
Manage/oversee daily export compliance approvals and ensure record keeping of all required export documents for the Labs.

Measures Of Success
Reduce risk to company and improve ACS export compliance profile as measured by internal assessments
Eliminate barriers to international sales through decontrols, licensing, and other authorizations
Support business initiatives, including acquisitions, divestitures, product line transitions, technology collaborations
Maintain and improve policies and processes around ACS technology controls
Maintain and improve policies and processes that enable Honeywell to avoid export compliance escapes and fines and penalties for trade-related activities
Actively monitor the enactment of new export regulations and informs stakeholders of business impact
Advise the business on export regulations and suggests solutions to enable the business to move forward lawfully with proposed international activities

Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree
6 years of export experience
US citizen or permanent resident required due to government contracts

Additional Qualifications
Master's or J.D. Degree Preferred
Strong knowledge of export regulations, including the US ITAR, EAR, and OFAC regulations
and applicable European (e.g. UK) regulations
Experience with ACS organizations, operating structures, business processes and product lines
Experience with export licensing and auditing
Experience with establishing technology transfer controls
Experience in building and sustaining a trade compliance program
Demonstrated ability to develop processes and to provide training to technical audiences
Strong quantitative and analytical skills
Global mindset and past success working across global matrix organization to leverage change
Good communication, inter-personal, and organizational skills
Licensed customs broker preferred
