Director Specification Management Bluetooth SIG Seattle

Job Description:
The Director, Specification Management is responsible for overseeing all Bluetooth specification activities, from creation to publication. This vital role interacts with the Board of Directors, member working groups,and committees progressing the development of a rapidly growing number of Bluetooth specifications. An expanding workload means that efficient processes and tools are paramount and the Director will be expected to lead efforts to reengineer key processes and provide input to Product Management on needed tools.
Roles and Responsibilities
Management of Department. Full budget, process, resource and people management
Management of team responsible for
Program/Project Management of all specification related activities from proposal to publication.
Member committee and working group support: Editing and test specification creation. Group elections and Counselor selections.
Ensuring quality preparation of all specification matters requiring Board approval.
Organizing and supporting member testing events (IOPs, UPFs, Automotive Test events)
Continual evaluation of processes to ensure the most efficient path from proposal to publication for our members.
Anticipation of future department work load, application of state of the art methods and industry best practices
Collaboration with internal teams on marketing, product management and member support
Increase member participation in specification development, through campaigns, training and process/tool re-engineering
Understanding member needs through member surveys and member feedback
Acting as SMEs to improve member resources, providing tools and system requirements to product management
