Job Description:
T Brand Studio is a fast-growing team of energetic writers, content strategists, videographers, designers and developers creating branded content across all of The New York Times’ advertiser verticals.
The Director of Content Strategy will be responsible for driving business development and thought leadership, as well as educating clients about and helping them explore the possibilities of branded content. This role will be responsible for identifying new opportunities and partnerships that enable, and drive, revenue growth — complementing the sales team.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Develop a framework for assessing and moving forward with new opportunities
Serve as a studio representative in client meetings to evangelize and provide guidance on studio capabilities and offerings, including but not limited to: mission, editorial services, pricing, production workflow and audience development
Establish a roadmap for thought leadership and new business collateral
Attend industry conferences to speak about importance of branded content, keep up with content trends, build new relationships and develop new opportunities
Ideate, build and help achieve content strategies that communicate and achieve client objectives
Educate clients about the importance and opportunities of branded content
Research, identify and pursue new business opportunities
Manage and cultivate strategy team
Pitch in to content briefs/strategy documents alongside editorial staff, when needed
EXPERIENCE:
BA or BS degree required
10+ years of experience in a publishing or agency environment
3+ years of experience in a business development or new business role strongly preferred
3+ years of experience in content marketing strongly preferred
Demonstrated ability to work face-to-face with client teams
Extensive knowledge of the native advertising and branded content spaces
Ability to write clearly and without jargon
Experience with public speaking
Avid consumer of media, of all types
Thick skin and a top-notch sense of humor
