Job Description:
Develops and implements integrated global BU Procurement strategies in alignment with overall HC P procurement strategy, including sourcing and purchase of raw materials and finished products, vendor management and procurement involvement in product development. Leads and manages strategic negotiations with external manufacturing (OEM) suppliers. Oversees the development and implementation of supply chain strategies and tactics in support of business plans and critical business factors, ensuring alignment between strategic plans and the business.
Dimension of Function:
Purchasing Volume (PVO) of € 380 Million, Contribution to Net Income (CNI), EVA contribution, In Time Delivery, procurement efficiency, Supply Chain efficiency, risk management, sustainability and corporate responsibility.

Contacts:
Internal contacts include executives and VP's in Finance, Procurement, SCM, Sales and Service, Operations/Manufacturing. External contacts include suppliers / vendors.

Areas of responsibility/ Tasks:
•Responsibility for all procurement activities and related processes globally within the BA, in conjunction with the Healthcare Procurement Organization and with the CEO/CFO of the BA. Maximize the contribution to operating profit from all material fields and services in order to increase the EBIT in the BA and HC as a whole.
•In alignment with Corporate Procurement, initiate and expedite targeted cost reduction programs.
Define innovative procurement strategies and gear procurement processes towards strategic objectives. Deploy Corporate Procurement Strategy in area of responsibility and contribute to BA strategy development (e.g. core, non-core, make or buy, cross-functional, early involvement).
Ensure alignment of BA specific commodity strategies, footprint and warehousing strategies towards the superior strategy levels.
•Select, manage, assess, develop and coach employees in the area of responsibility to ensure long-term corporate success with motivated staff. Define and monitor targets and KPIs for the respective procurement functions within the BA in alignment with the Corporate Procurement and with the CEO/CFO of the BU.
•Strategically manage & optimize the supply network for BA specifics and strive to optimally leverage suppliers capabilities and cost position. Develop and manage strategic partner alliances. Active participation (as a Member) in the Procurement Sourcing Board for the Strategic Supplier Portfolio selection and consolidation.
•Works closely with manufacturing and sales to determine materials requirements and implement strategies to maximize effectiveness.
•Direct all initiatives regarding supplier scouting, supplier qualification, design-to-cost programs and process optimization within the BU. Drive the standardization within product development activities of the BU through the early involvement of the Procurement Project Management.
•Implement BA specific material fields benchmarking and best practice sharing with the Global Procurement network and with external partners.
•Drive an efficient global and local cooperation within the BU Procurement functions in close cooperation with Corporate Procurement. Active participation (as a Member) in the Procurement Steering Team to guide and drive the entire Global Procurement Network.
Representation of Global Procurement within the BU to promote the tribute of Procurement and to create and use synergies.
•Guide and manage the optimization of the BA supply chain regarding inventory levels, transport and lead times. Engage in the implementation of best in class supply chain processes (VMI, ...).
•Act as the direct partner link to Management Business Area/ Corporate Functions. Ensure active regular communication and information exchange with all parties of interest.

Competencies:
•Understanding of business practices and trends with diagnostic and healthcare industries.
•Thorough knowledge of supply chain philosophy and practices related to the medical diagnostic industry
•In-depth understanding of sourcing techniques.
•Understand and apply new and emerging technologies, trends and regulations that offer the opportunity for increased productivity and effectiveness.
•10+ years of business experience required with a heavy emphasis on supply chain management. Demonstrates a thorough understanding of materials planning, manufacturing forecasting, purchasing and vendor management. Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
•In-depth understanding of business processes especially interactions between functions. In-depth understanding of service regulations and quality standards.
•Incumbent must have a minimum of 8 combined years of successful supply chain management experience. Position requires high level of human relations skills because of the need to communicate effectively and develop close working relationships with all levels of field and headquarters management within DX and supplier/vendor organizations. Solid managerial abilities to organize and direct the functions under his/her control
•Work experience/life experience with other cultures in order to effectively communicate, understand and get results.
