Job Description:
The primary responsibilities of the Director, STAT Reporting include the accounting and financial reporting for the AIG Life & Retirement companies on a Statutory basis of accounting.
This person will be responsible for leading a team that is responsible for the completion of all Statutory filings for the 5 legal entities within AIG Life & Retirement, including the MD&A, as well as all regulatory compliance matters with the department of insurance of each state. The STAT Financial Reporting team is comprised of a group in Houston and in the Bangalore, India Center of Finance.
Additional Responsibilities Will Include
Completion and expansion of statutory financial statement analysis, both in aggregate and by line of business.
Preparation, oversight and review of annual STAT audited financial statements for the AIG Life and Retirement companies.
Primary liaison between the Company and its independent auditor for Statutory matters.
Ensuring compliance with Statutory reporting guidelines set by the NAIC by working closely with the accounting policy team.
Interacting with various areas within the organization to ensure timely and accurate disclosures & statements.
This individual will need to be able to operate in an extremely fast paced, complex accounting environment.

• Financial systems knowledge preferred including but not limited to SAP ECC/BI/BPC.

• Knowledge of insurance and annuity products.
• Bachelor’s degree and 7+ years of experience
• CPA a plus
• Strong Microsoft Office skills, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access
