Director Finance Non-Revenue Operations NBC Universal Universal City

Job Description:
Successful candidate will lead and direct all aspects of Financial management of Non-Revenue Park Operations, including the Operations/Attractions, Entertainment and Technical Services/Utilities departments (all park operating groups except Food and Retail). Areas of responsibility include business leadership, budgeting, reporting, accounting, analysis, process improvement and staff management/development. The position reports to a VP of Finance, with significant exposure to the senior leadership team.

The team supporting this role includes a Manager and SFA of each of the three departments. Given current and planned expansion and improvement of the park, this candidate will play a critical role in growing the infrastructure of the park in a financially sound way.
Drive Department Performance
•Partner with Technical Services, Operations/Attractions, and Entertainment management teams and the Finance team to develop and implement best in class metrics and analysis to drive operation performance. Develop and implement best in class financial processes. Provide financial coaching to all operations partners.

Financial Reporting, Budget Preparation And Analysis

•Prepare weekly/monthly performance packages for senior management addressing budget variances, cash position and status of current projects. Prepare annual operating plan, monthly forecasts and latest estimates. Prepare monthly position update for senior management.
•Perform in-depth analytical analyses on actual financial performance versus budgeted targets and versus key business drivers to include regression and correlation analyses. Extend findings to provide meaningful recommendations.

Maximize Technical Efficiencies

•Strengthen controls to ensure a “no surprises” environment. Leverage relationships with operating partners to optimize efficiencies and influence behavior.

Special Projects

•Lead/assist with special projects – both analytical and process improvements (i.e.: improved management reports, operational processes, metric management techniques, etc.). Extend findings to provide meaningful recommendations. Qualifications/Requirements• Bachelor’s degree in business/accounting/finance or related field.
• 7 plus years Finance experience with progression.
• Advanced leadership, corporate financial management and business skills
