Director Engineering Nielsen Tampa

Job Description:
Leads all Nielsen Technology Audit Activities and is the EY spokesperson and point of interface for all engineering audit program initiatives.
Participates in all early program development within Engineering to make certain that the voice of the audit is built in to planning and design prior to commencement of development activities. Also implements carefully planned and orchestrated comprehensive TV, Audio and Digital audit plans for all engineering initiatives as well as all in-place and existing services such as NPM, LPM, DAR, etc.

The Director role will interface with all key leaderships teams across the business to establish points of excellence in communication, status, challenges, and the critical role of audit evaluation and MRC accreditation.

Accountabilities
The Director is responsible for direct and continuous EY & BQ&C coordination of plans and actions, relationship management, MRC accountability as well as Nielsen is required to assure alignment and ongoing harmony. Will work with a staff of 2-3 Program Managers who are directly focused on TV, Audio and Digital products to prepare for audit activities, PBC's, etc. as part of audit planning activities.
Capable of operating independently, work from home skills and dependability is important, also ability to properly delegate and motivate people and staff. Team building internally and externally is considered essential skill set and the candidate must possess very mature oral and written communication skills.
Interfaces and presents to the MRC on key topics and subjects impacting business objectives and opportunities
Works with Engineering leadership and provides counsel on audit requirements, expectations, service levels, etc. to permit successful audit outcomes and to have leadership focused on key issues.
Attends (optionally) industry conferences to build out knowledge and broaden the team. This to include Media and Compliance topics.
Provides ongoing and structured status reports and audit plans that are continuously updated to reflect progress as well as points of concern or need for repair.
Maintains key barometers of performance in conjunction with Engineering data science teams, program teams, and external CSE, CS, and PL teams. Monthly KPI overview report is required for status snapshots and communication upward to leadership.
Interfaces with PL and CS in educating leaders on key audits and compliance activities. This done on a quarterly basis.
Manage, coach and develop staff with emphasis on the staff bearing day-to-day workload responsibility and performing at a high level.

Number of third party employees (contractors/outsourced) managed directly/indirectly: None anticipated
The role is global/regional/ local: Role is primarily US focused but has global implications wherever Engineering initiatives and audit functions may be required. Travel can be delegated to subordinates.
Breadth of functions under management: Broad management exposure as we migrate to cloud based services requiring new and exciting ideas about how to conduct audits in a space where controls are sometime challenged by third party relationships and clients have concerns over effective control mechanisms.
Other factors indicating size/complexity of role: Multiple priorities are commonplace and should be considered the norm in terms of management of competing priorities.

Knowledge and Skills
Previous exposure and competency with essential Nielsen processing and significant data knowledge is considered key.
Proven ability to lead people and manage relationships.
Ability to interface with senior PL, technical, and CS staff is essential to planning the needs of the business and the issuance of high quality commitments to the enduring high quality commitments to prodcuing the best technology services and technologies.
Must have previous and demonstrated management and supervisory experience directing team activities and fulfilling team oriented missions of critical importance to Nielsen.
Education/Experience
BS College Degree minimally required - mathematics, accounting, finance, or business administration, (equivalent considered). Big 4 background considered very desirable.
Minimum of 5-10 years Nielsen data and process knowledge is a fundamental requirement. Audit knowledge and/or software quality assurances background also considered a very strong knowledge set.
3 years of team leadership at a minimum

5+ years direct employee management
