Director Compensation SEPHORA San Francisco

Job Description:
Manage the compensation function for US and Canada. Plans, develops and implements new and revised compensation programs, policies and procedures in order to be responsive to company’s goals and competitive practices. Assures through audits, reports and personal contact that company compensation programs are consistently administered in compliance with company policies.

Responsibilities

Monitors the effectiveness of existing compensation policies, guidelines and procedures recommending plan revision as well as new plans which are cost effective and consistent with compensation trends and company objectives; coordinates implementation and provides guidance to staff
Provides advice to staff on pay decisions, policy and guideline interpretation and job evaluation including the design of creative solutions to specific compensation related plans
Manages the administration of direct compensation including processing, recording and reporting
Develops techniques for compiling, preparing and presenting data
Supervises the participation in and conduct of exempt and non exempt salary surveys to ensure objectives are achieved
Partners with Sephora Human Resources to implement and process corporate, warehouse, and store compensation changes – including annual merit/pay rate and bonus changes, and monthly and semi-annual store bonus changes
Runs compensation reports; assists HR with compensation analysis
Partner with communications around Compensation calendar
Partner with payroll around calendar and loading compensation information into the payroll system
Work with Canada leadership team on roles/responsibilities for compensation planning and processing
Keeps apprised of federal, state, local and provincial laws and regulations in order to ensure company compliance
Desired Skills and Experience
Requirements

BS or BA with 7 years of HR/Compensation related experience
Intermediate or expert level expertise of SAP HR, MS Excel required
Excellent judgment and analytical skills
Strong time management and follow-up skills
Effective oral/written communications skills, interacts well with all levels in HR and overall business units
Ability to work in a versatile, fast paced and deadline oriented environment
