Responsibilities:
Lead and manage a highly talented team of network and database engineers.
Take ownership of all aspects of technology operations for network & system components.
Ongoing server administration, mainly Ubuntu Linux.
Maintaining current versions, patches and bug fixes, in both KVM and bare-metal environments.
Firewall configuration and administration.
Monitoring and management of network elements and production application servers.
Backup of critical systems on a scheduled basis, and the ability to restore from backup as required.
Proactive systems management, setup procedures that utilize tools to manage capacity and SLA.
Develop documentation and reports as required.
This position works out of our San Diego office and reports to the COO.
Requirements:
Expert on Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP): TCP/IP, SIP, BGP, Session Border Controllers (SBC), etc.
Experience building and managing commercial grade VoIP networks on open source technologies such as Asterisk & FreeSwitch.
Expertise in circuit types, interfaces, & telecom vocabulary in a multi-carrier provisioning environment; experience in working with communications carriers for both origination & termination.
Solid experience in programming languages like Perl and PHP.
Experience with Unix, Apache, MySQL and MongoDB administration.
DevOps experience (Puppet, Ansible) and scripting experience (Bash, Python, Perl, LUA) desirable.
Experience managing cloud: in Amazon EC2, Rackspace. Openstack experience desirable.
Infosec knowledge. Experience in security & compliance standards such as PCI, HIPAA, CALEA etc.
Experience with disaster recovery and business continuity.
Experience with Unix, Apache, MySQL, MongoDB administration.
