Job Description:
We have an exciting high profile opportunity for a Director of Internal Digital Strategy to join our Communications team. You will lead the strategy and development of our internal digital presence. This includes leading the corporate strategy and approach to our intranet portal (Contact) and other current and emerging digital internal communications assets, meeting the needs of all clients, while leveraging the platform to drive AIG's culture. You will also have responsibility for developing robust internal social media programs, and leading the thinking for platform development: website technology, mobile, databases, etc.
Responsibilities will include:
- Define internal communications digital strategy on behalf of AIG's Senior Leadership
- Oversee AIG Intranet (Contact) as a business asset. Manage content and look/feel of the site, in partnership with IT and ensuring that the site meets the diverse needs of clients.
- Act as a champion and change agent by building a network of productive relationships internally
- Chair a steering committee and oversee funding, priorities, metrics, issues/risks, guidelines
- Communicate and enforce AIG's intranet strategy vision and standards to users, stakeholders and senior leaders
- Manage a team responsible for internal/intranet operations, governance and content
- Lead education and keep the organization abreast of emerging trends, opportunities along with value added insights to drive the business to drive engagement
- Leverage web metrics provided by Digital Governance Manager and inform recommendations based on Content Strategy Manager conclusions.
Qualifications:
- 10+ years' experience in Communications with strong emphasis on Digital, Intranet, and Social Media
- Strong ability to build relationships and gain respect of key stakeholders; Must be able to socialize new direction of team and educate on best practices
- Experience creating formal processes and governance around digital presence
- Capable of anticipating problems and mitigating key risks (i.e: loss of credibility, compliance, brand protection)
- Focus on creating superior user experiences
- Excellent communication skills - written and verbal
- Experience managing a team and delegating work
- Ability to translate business needs into actionable projects and tasks
