Director Group Digital Gannett McLean

Job Description:
Having recently completed a company split, it is an exciting time be part of the Gannett Co., Inc. team. Gannett Co., Inc. seeks a Local Digital Director. The Local Digital Director (LDD) will be aligned to the East Group. This position will work strategically with Gannett properties to design and implement initiatives focused on driving revenue with new and existing advertisers across Gannett’s Retail Segment. The LDD will help develop the retail sales strategy for the organization and partner with the USCP region leads to execute and achieve sales objectives within the retail segment. The ideal candidate must be able to demonstrate a track record in successfully penetrating and growing business with large B2B accounts, working both directly with the clients and with other sales executives companywide.

Candidate must possess strong skills in integrating analytics, market insights, account planning and other “enterprise” best sales practices to create and execute successful growth strategies. Digital media sales experience is required. This position can be located either in McLean or remotely. Extensive travel required. This is a Domestic Publishing staff role and reports to the Group Director of Sales - East.



In This Role, You Will
Accountable for growing incremental revenue within the retail segment by working strategically and tactically with local Domestic Publishing colleagues and Gannett sales executive’s companywide.
Prepare and analyze market data and revenue across assigned region to identify opportunities both locally and at scale.



Here’s What You Need
Bachelor’s degree required. MBA degree a plus.
Ideal candidate possesses digital agency experience.
5+ years successfully managing “enterprise” level digital sales teams.
Strong leadership skills with a proven track record of team development, leadership and staff motivation.
Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
Strategic thinker with ability to gain trust and prove relevancy within a matrix organization.
Ability to manage a team remotely.
Ability to react to change productively.
Demonstrated success driving revenue at scale.
Possess a strong metrics orientation.
