Job Description:
The Director of Cell Therapy Services works within the Fisher BioServices business, reporting to the Vice President and General Manager. This position is responsible leading the BioPharma Services Division’s global strategy for Cell Therapy Services. Primary responsibilities are developing and continuous evolving the Divisions market strategy and operational capabilities for the global Cell Therapy business. Successful execution will provide our customers with a comprehensive service portfolio that will fully support them as their needs progress from early development through all phases of clinical trials and into commercialization.
The Director will work closely with colleagues in Sales, Marketing, Operations, and Quality/Regulatory functions across the Division to ensure the seamless execution of the Cell Therapy Service Line. The Director is also responsible for collaborating with other Thermo Fisher Scientific businesses working in the Cell Therapy market space to optimize alignment and coordination within the Corporation.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Represent the Division’s Cell Therapy capabilities externally at scientific meetings, trade shows, customer conferences, key customer meetings, etc.
Develop/maintain a robust global Cell Therapy market model. Total / addressable market segments, growth rates, current service providers (competition), essential products and services, etc.
Lead Divisional strategy development for the Cell Therapy segment including investment profile.
Maintain a compelling Divisional go-to-market value proposition for Cell Therapy. Work with Sales and Marketing to deliver that message to the market.
Collaborate with customers to understand their business needs and strategic objectives, form relationships with decision-makers and key market influencers.
Deploy strategies to source, negotiate, contract and implement programs and otherwise drive revenue and profitability growth of the cell therapy service portfolio.
Responsible for contributing market data forecasts to management and communicates any significant changes or developments in a proactive and timely manner.
Ensure client satisfaction by collaborating with other Thermo Fisher business units to provide a single face to the customer and ensuring that any major conflicts with customers are resolved.
Ensure that management and the sales account team are kept informed of business requirements and significant developments within accounts and is involved at critical times.
Discover the strengths and vulnerabilities of major competitors and develops sales strategies to respond effectively and to develop competitive differentiation.
Collaborate with other groups within Thermo Fisher to implement strategies, identify and address cross-selling and synergistic business opportunities and overcome obstacles.
Build strong collaborative working relationships with the business leaders and counter-parts in all Thermo Fisher commercial channels including corporate accounts, the Customer Channels Group and the direct sales channels for related services business units.
Has financial responsibility over the Cell Therapy product line, and will participate in revenue and expense forecasting and reporting.

Requires thorough understanding of cell therapy including specific product utilization details and the overall breadth of the portfolio requirements.
Requires understanding the competitive service / solution providers, brands / product groups, and the full suite of instruments, equipment and consumable product requirements demanded by the relevant segments of the cell therapy marketplace.
Requires confidence and poise to negotiate and manage relationships with Director and Vice President level supplier partners independently.
Requires ability to develop/implement strategies and sound recommendations based on both quantitative and qualitative inputs with intuitive understanding of financial drivers.
Requires excellent leadership, self motivation, interpersonal, customer orientation, presentation and problem solving skills.
Requires multi tasking experience, flexibility and a functional understanding of time and priority management with the capability of achieving short term objectives while meeting deadlines and tracking longer-term projects and strategic initiatives to completion in a timely fashion.
Requires well developed general business acumen with a thorough understanding of financial data and reporting methodologies, various performance metrics and ROI analyses.
Requires expert PowerPoint skills, and experience with Microsoft Project.
Requires strong collaborative track record, which includes working within a matrix environment along with the ability to find solutions to a common goal.
Requires excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Requires ability to develop high levels of credibility and forge solid and positive professional relationships with customers, peers, and upper management.
Education/ Experience
Requires BA/BS in a life science discipline. MBA and/or graduate degree in a life science discipline preferred.
Requires 8+ years experience as a Senior Business Manager in general management, marketing/product management, portfolio management and 3+ years working in the Cell Therapy market.
Familiarity with commercial operations, relationship management and marketing tools.
Work Schedule: 8AM to 5PM core hours, additional hours as required.
Work Conditions/Physical Requirements
Must routinely make presentations both internally and externally
Must be able to use a computer up to 6 hours per day.
Must be able to travel 25% to 50% of the time.
