Director Business Development Pictures Television Sony Pictures Entertainment Los Angeles

Job Description:
The Director will have the opportunity to apply business and financial expertise to the international television industry and SPT’s growing portfolio of digital businesses, and contribute to SPT’s strategic direction. The position will report to the VP of Television Business Development.

The Director will be involved in business and corporate development initiatives such as identifying growth opportunities throughout the world and evaluating transactions such as merger and acquisitions, joint ventures, strategic alliances and corporate investments from a strategic and financial perspective.

Specific responsibilities of the Director include:

Develop and manage detailed financial analyses and deal approval presentations for new business launches, acquisitions or divestitures. Closely cooperate with SPT executives during negotiations
Evaluate growth initiatives in the digital media industry and support Crackle’s strategic expansion projects
Review business plans and presentations, and provide recommendations as to the financial opportunity and strategic fit with Sony Pictures Entertainment (SPE's) objectives
Perform financial due diligence into potential acquisition targets, including detailed review of financial statements and risk analysis
Work with internal personnel and external legal and financial advisors in structuring transactions such as corporate investments, joint ventures, strategic alliances, and financings in the television and digital media industry
Build strong relationships with senior executives as well as finance and operating executives in the U.S. and around the world
Desired Skills and Experience
Job requirements:

5+ years business experience in consulting, investment banking or corporate / business development
Requires experience in the media and entertainment industry (preferred television and/or digital media) and an understanding of digital media business models
MBA strongly preferred (B.A./B.S. required)
Strong financial analysis skills; experience in valuation and/or investment analyses
Strong communication and presentation skills
Proven self-starter and independent problem-solving ability with sense to understand implications of work and probe more deeply when presented with inconsistent or interesting findings
Proven ability to manage projects from beginning to completion, ‘can-do’ attitude
