Job Description:
The PTC University Systems team builds the infrastructure and tools to support our dynamic content and multiple delivery formats. We are a team of developers, test engineers, user experience designers and product managers dedicated to providing customers with a welcoming user experience and easy access to the training material they need when they need it. We work in small customer-focused teams to create innovative training solutions. Our applications are primarily built on latest Java/JavaScript open-source technology stack and Agile practices: AngularJS, Wicket, Spring, Hibernate, GWT, TDD, Cucumber, Selenium and AWS.
The Director will be based in Needham, MA, and will report to the Senior Vice President of Global Services Portfolio and Systems, with a strong working relationship with the Senior Vice President of PTC University.
Responsibilities
· Management oversight of all functions: Development, DevOps, User Experience and Support
· Provide direct management to Product Management team
· Build and maintain internal and external stakeholder relationships
· Strategic long term planning for products and team development
· Foster collaboration and innovation across all functional teams
· Manage costs within budget guidelines
· Stay current on trends in educational technology
· Represent PTC University at user conferences and technical committees as needed
· Some travel (~10%) required
Required Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) in a related technical field.
7-10 years of professional experience.
5-7 years of experience managing a global software development team
· Demonstrated success building new software products and innovating mature products
· Experience working with customers to understand pain points
· Ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization
· Some knowledge of education technology industry a plus
