The DCD is responsible for data center and critical infrastructure operations. This position has responsibility for planning, staffing, budgeting, service prioritization, day-to-day operations and recommending / implementing changes to various standards, methodologies and processes. The DCD will drive infrastructure solutions in collaborative fashion working closely and influencing ebay Business Units and Global Foundation Services Teams. Position reports to the Senior Director, Global Data Center Services. The role requires extensive communication and project management skills. The successful candidate will be a skilled and transparent decision maker that knows how to motivate and innovate in a dynamic cross functional and high-pressure environment. Primary responsibility and influence is their immediate organization. Secondarily, to the broader organization and technology as a whole. Visible across technology and influences technology initiatives.
Job Requirements
This is a Data Center operations and strategy position responsible for a significant portion of company production infrastructure (20%+ of portfolio). Responsible for availability, service delivery, and budget performance for a region comprising $200m+ in capex construction cost and $20m+ in annual operating costs.
The role is to run the day to day operations and decide strategy for the data center within the assigned region moving forward.
International experience is desirable.
This role would work closely with the MCE team on Greenfield sites within the region where they can design and build out new data center capacity. Provide guidance on needed capacity by infrastructure class, feedback on design philosophy, and requirements on operational and maintenance capabilities.
Role will have multiple direct and indirect reports with aggregate team size exceeding 75 personnel.
