Job Description
The Director, Machining COE will have responsibility to build this Center of Excellence. We would expect this to initially involve the selection and recruitment of an engineering team able to support quoting, process design, program management and execution of newly acquired business. As the COE evolves it is expected to take on the central role of being able to perform detailed manufacturing and quality process designs in addition to programming and jig/fixture design. As an outcome of being the central point for new business quoting the COE will need to assess whether business can be supported at existing facilities using existing equipment or whether new equipment and facilities are required. This will require that the COE manages the group capital spending budgets.
The position will interface with customers on a regular basis and hence the ability to be communicate and deliver commitments in a transparent and organized fashion is very important. The COE may at some point possess manufacturing capability for prototype manufacturing and could have technologies such as Additive Manufacturing, Metal Injection Molding, etc
