Director Innovation Strategy Visa San Francisco

Job Description
Visa’s Innovation & Strategic Partnerships (I&SP) organization is responsible for identifying, structuring, closing and managing major strategic partnerships, alliances and commercial deals.

The Program Management Office for I&SP is accountable for supporting strategy development, communicating the value of I&SP to senior audiences inside and outside Visa, and for establishing and delivering associated programs to deploy market-changing solutions for consumers and merchants.

As a member of the PMO, the Innovation Strategy Director will own the entire lifecycle of I&SP’s strategy. S/he is responsible for working with I&SP’s leadership to develop, implement, track and report on the team’s strategy and goals. Communication of I&SP’s progress and impact to senior executives is a core part of the role.

In addition, s/he will own the entire lifecycle for specific programs and successful program outcomes—a smooth, successful launch. S/he is responsible for working cross-functionally with development, operations, sales, marketing, finance, risk, and legal.

Specific Responsibilities:

I&SP Strategy Development & Implementation
-Work with the I&SP leadership to develop overall goals for the organization
-Document the strategy for the I&SP organization in alignment with overall Visa strategic objectives and I&SP goals
-Work with I&SP leadership on specific initiatives, as needed, designed to further the organization’s overall strategy
-Provide support in the identification of clear and realistic longer-term key success factors and short- to medium-term strategic priorities
-Identification of strategic issues to be discussed by I&SP management and provision of information to enable discussion and decision making
-Build out and manage associated reporting capabilities
-Assess a broad set of quantitative and qualitative performance issues, synthesize this information into key points and priorities, and make recommendations for improvement

I&SP Strategy Communications
-Develop, implement, and evaluate the annual communications plan across I&SP’s discreet audiences in collaboration with I&SP leadership
-Oversee development and implementation of a strategic communication plan tied to the strategy
-Manage of a direct report responsible for I&SP communications strategy and plan
-Capture cross functional I&SP strategy, success and milestones into a codified story
-Link cross functional I&SP success and milestones into ROI, client/account impact and how we are moving the needle at Visa
-Craft messaging and IS&P story into C-level presentations and reporting as needed
-Craft I&SP cross functional dashboard and articulate a compelling ROI and success for key initiatives and wins that can be used to communicate across Visa and to C-level
-Build strong relationships with cross functional partners such as Product, Finance, HR, Marketing/Communications to execute on I&SP strategy, deliverables and reporting

External Partner Programs Implementation
-Work with I&SP Account Executives to structure and manage integrated, multi-track projects and/or programs that meet the business intent for Visa’s most important strategic partners
-Single accountable party for defining, planning, orchestrating, and delivering a given strategic initiative often involving multiple internal and external constituents and matrix partners
-Serves as a subject matter expert in routinely briefing key stakeholders, including interactions with strategic partner executives
-Defines and tracks project milestones while developing, maintaining, and reporting on an overall integrated delivery plan
-Rigorously manages scope to ensure commitments are achieved within agreed on time, cost, and quality parameters
-Represents the project in various project governance and inter-department forums and publishes periodic project status reports
-Responsible for early identification of issues, determining potential resolutions, assigning the appropriate resources, communicating status, tracking and resolving them in a timely manner

Qualifications
-A Bachelor degree preferably with in Economics, Statistics, Business or similar
-MBA or other advanced degree
-10+ years of experience; 4+ years in consulting with some experience in leading strategy projects and working with senior management
-Experience in business program/project management with exemplary core project management skills a must
-Experience in payment processing industry is a plus.
-Able to work in unstructured, matrix environment with evolving process and structure
-Superior analytical and problem solving skills, with demonstrated intellectual and analytical rigor
-Candidates must have "Can do" attitude and should not hesitate to do what it takes, garner support on any type of task or function
-Solid influencing skills and presentation skills and ability to communicate at all levels with clarity and precision both written and verbally is necessary
-Pro-active and effective ability to lead cross-functional teams and proven experience of project management
-Team player possessing a strong drive to add value to the business direction.
