Job Description
The product organization has overall responsibility for all aspects of product strategy and development in consumer and business products, as well as platform development and commercial information management. Accountable for the global interoperability of Visa's products and services; developing new channel solutions and technology support; building alliances and solutions for new products, technologies, platforms and market segment penetration; and product analytics.
This role is a recognized expert within Visa responsible for contributing to the development of functional strategy. This is an individual contributor role responsible for solving unique and complex problems that have a broad impact on the business. Although this position has no direct reports, may frequently lead internal teams or manage work completed through vendors.
Product Development/Product Management
Participate in the definition of global and/or regional product vision and strategy and drive the development and launch of the product from concept to delivery. And/Or participate in the definition and directly manage product strategy, product revenue, market adoption and penetration goals to expand product category and achieve/exceed defined product and corporate objectives.
Responsible for product management including participation in and/or leadership of cross-functional and/or cross-regional teams to develop new programs and manage existing programs to grow penetration/ activation/ usage of Visa products and services.
Participate in the identification and prioritization and lead the development of product, platform, market and/or service innovations to protect and grow existing revenue streams and to grow new revenues for assigned products.
Conduct complex analysis of business opportunities, market trends, gaps, emerging segments and business trends.
Build and enhance relationship with internal and external partners, seeking business opportunities and strategic alliances for Visa and client institutions.
Drive product research efforts and best practicing to inform product development/mgmt activities.
Develop or enhance and drive implementation of complex product tools to track and manage product performance.
Product Leadership
Act as product expert, both internally and externally. In partnership with sales and client services may and work directly with key Visa customers, lead business performance analysis (BPA) and provide recommendations to drive profitable growth for the customer and Visa.
Continuously review client landscape and recommend, develop and implement new and creative approaches to growing the Visa business.
Implement strategies that position the business to shape and capitalize on emerging customer and market needs.
Conduct complex analysis, including the analysis of business metrics, portfolio level performance, segment penetration, customer behavioral profiles and competitive product & program assessment to identify gaps and opportunities.
Structure analysis, develop issuer specific recommendations and deliver findings in the context of broader market and industry trends.
Provide insights and recommendations on growth and activation, help issuers identify new segment opportunities and develop product value proposition.
Work with internal and external contacts to execute annual strategic plans and key initiatives.
Lead product training for client institutions, partners and internal teams.
Qualifications
RECRUITER MUST EDIT BASED ON LOCATION: Bachelors/Degree required, MBA preferred; Typically requires a minimum of 8-10 years progressively responsible business experience with experience in card payments industry, corporate banking or card processing preferred (AP, Canada, LAC, US) OR Professionally qualified or equivalent with experience of responsible staff, product, service or project management experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Previous consulting experience preferred for Product Leadership roles.
Demonstrated track record of implementing product strategies based on business objectives that deliver measurable business results.
Analytical, fact-based and the ability to synthesize and organize data/information.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal and presentation skills and the proven ability to influence and communicate effectively.
Excellent planning, organizational and problem solving skills.
Demonstrated project management skills with ability to drive consensus in cross regional and cross functional teams.
Ability to translate product complexities into practical business solutions appropriate for Visa and its clients.
