Job description
The mission of the Senior Director, Storage Product Management is to drive the strategic vision and develop the tactical skills and process for defining and delivering solutions to the market.
Responsibilities
Provide product and platform leadership
Develop and execute near term and long term product roadmaps.
Think strategically to plan next-generation products and impact partnerships and potential acquisitions
Develop and deliver a clear strategy and partner closely with marketing, engineering, and business development to create an ecosystem of supporting solutions
Communicate internally the vision and strategy including supporting evidence and milestones
Develop a world class product management team o Attract and retain top talent and provide mentorship
Continue a culture valuing user experience and outcomes
Refine agile planning and development practices in conjunction with engineering
Engage with customers to understand their challenges and expectations
Communicate Strategy, Roadmap, and Technology
Partner with marketing to develop effective messaging that simplifies and clearly communicates complex concepts to broad audiences
Explain our products and vision to all levels in the organization from developers to senior executives
Engage with customers at various levels including senior executives, architects, and administrators to convey our capabilities and vision
Excite our development team with the impact of the solutions we are building on our customer’s behalf In summary the successful candidate will own the critical responsibility of delivering on significant growth projections for a flag-ship Symantec business unit.
Qualifications
Extensive experience in enterprise software products with hardware product experience a positive enhancement.
Thorough working knowledge of agile development processes with a proven track record in using these skills to develop and manage products and people through the entire product life cycle.
Demonstrated ability balance broad demands and prioritize the efforts and budget for a large organization
Proven ability to develop and communicate strategic vision
Proven track record in deliver of new products
Demonstrated team-building skills. Importantly, he will have the ability to motivate and guide people beyond the direct reporting structure, and will be able to impact the organization across a variety of functions.
Preference for individuals that have experience in a variety of organization types and possess a top tier MBA.
