Job Description
ResponsibilitiesThe Director of Physical Production will be responsible for coordinating, maintaining, and administering standards and procedures with feature productions, which support overall Studio protocols. This person will proactively assist the department in developing comprehensive strategies to maximize use of new technology mediums to increase production efficiency. This person must be a team player.
Job Duties
Work with department leadership to organize and strategize production calendars and shooting schedules.
Review and resolve issues regarding production and post-production paperwork including but not limited to; Call Sheets, Production Reports, Delivery Schedules, Status Reports.
Gather, distribute and archive production paperwork as well as track and manage assets.
Coordinate across departments to confirm sufficient delivery of all production materials for both Studio produced and non-Studio produced material.
With the department leadership, draft production and post-production post mortems
Research global incentives and work with the department leadership to identify key locations for potential projects
Manage and update Production Manuals, Production Forms and Information Sheets.
Liaise with various Studio departments and coordinate compulsory production meetings.
Coordinate script distribution for clearances.
Create presentations and recommendation documents
Assist department leadership in breaking down scripts, scheduling and budgeting for both domestic and international productions.
Qualifications/RequirementsBasic Qualifications:
Minimum of 5+ years’ experience in film production as a UPM, Production Supervisor, or Production Coordinator.
Experience in Movie Magic Scheduling, Budgeting and Final Draft.
First-hand experience of foreign production outside the U.S. and Canada.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Must be adept in Word, Excel and Power Point.
Cross-functional expertise in film development, production and post-production.
Must be skillful in logistics management, and an analytic problem solver.
Must be willing to travel for extended periods and have a passion for pushing boundaries and accepting challenges.
Prefer an individual with general knowledge of studio functionality by having worked for a major studio previously, or on a major studio production in a management/supervisory capacity.
General knowledge of post-production and post-production workflows
