Job Description
This opening is for the Solution Director for Property Management Systems (PMS). The Solution Director works as part of a small, high-calibre team to define and deliver upon the vision for the PMS product set. The Solution Director provides thought leadership and industry expertise to help shape the solution roadmap with the Solution Senior Director. They work on market analysis and business cases for the proposed investments and solicit feedback from the field (sales, consulting and retailers) in order to optimise the revenue generation and market share growth for the product suite.



Successful PMS Solution Directors have a strong background in hotel operations and extensive expertise in the hotel software market. They are good at building relationships and understanding the greater organisation – including the Development team. As leaders within the organization, they are evangelists for PMS both externally and internally.

The Solution Director is responsible for the following solution deliverables:

Vision – work with the Solution Sr. Director to shape the roadmap for the solution set
Market Requirements – consolidate market requirement documents for solution enhancements
Business Case Support – provide quantitative business justification for the proposed enhancements
TCO, Partner & Implementation Approach – document/analyze current solution TCO, develop partner relationships, and work to optimize the implementation of the solutions
Customer Advisory Board – own the CAB content throughout the year and membership list
Customer success - participate in strategic customer discussions and issue resolution
Marketing and Sales – assist with merchandising software demonstration requirements, approve website content and press releases and assist compiling advocated offers
Thought Leadership – internal and external communication related to key industry trends and how they may be relevant to the Merchandising solutions
Price Book – work with solution managers and field on maintaining the global price book, change approvals


In addition to the above activities, the Solution Director assists in strategic sales cycles and customer strategy sessions as necessary. They collaborate very closely with the Solution Senior Director, give feedback on solution messaging and offers to the Solution Market Directors and provide guidance to the Solution Managers on solution / product requirements. The Solution Director reports directly to the Senior Director within the solution unit.



Desired Skills and Experience
Job Requirements

First-hand, detailed knowledge of the hotel Industry and hotel business processes with an emphasis on core hotel operations and technology. Ideally the candidate will be familiar with the Oracle Hotel product suite (or competitive vendor equivalent solutions). The candidate should have consultative selling or business consulting experience as well as excellent presentation, communication and influencing skills. They must possess strong analytical skills and business acumen. At least 8 years relevant experience is expected. The ability to travel domestically as well as sometimes internationally is required. BA/BS required, MBA an advantage.

Define Strategy and Investment Agenda and Product Roadmap. “Where do we play, where do we win”
Build comprehensive solution offers for target market segments
Achieve Profitable Growth and Market Share budget targets
Lead high performance team of product managers
Work in a highly collaborative fashion with the Global Sales Units, Engineering, Services and Supply Chain. End-to-end orientation
Define market requirements and lead business planning. Participate in Industry Eco-system and work closely with key suppliers/partners
Qualifications

Deep understanding of the PMS and Hotel industry
Distinct sense for and creative expertise in the development and sale of PMS solutions
Entrepreneurial mind-set and behavior
Conceptual, analytical, flexible, result and future oriented way of thinking
At least 8 years relevant experience is expected
