Amazon Publishing is seeking an experienced and innovative leader for the role of Editorial Director, Thomas & Mercer. As Editorial Director, you will lead a team of talented editors and oversee all content acquisition for our award-winning mystery, thriller, and suspense imprint. Your mission will be to improve, develop, and refine our editorial strategy, processes, and standards while working with a top-notch publishing team to create a world-class experience for our authors. This is a multi-faceted job in a start-up environment that requires flexibility, agility, and a good sense of humor.


Position Details

Develop, refine, and drive the editorial vision, goals and measures of success for the category
Oversee all content acquisition for category
Manage a team of top-notch editors, fostering a creative, collaborative environment, internally and externally
Identify, evaluate and develop submissions and proposals through a team of editors with the goal of acquiring exceptional work
BA/BS Required
8 or more years of relevant editorial and publishing experience
8 or more years of experience leading a team of direct reports
Demonstrated experience and successful track record working with authors and agents
Superb written and verbal communication skills
Strong analytical skills and the ability to use data to measure results
Ability to juggle multiple priorities and make things happen in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Advanced degree preferred
Experience with digital content and formats
