Responsibilities
Structure, negotiate, draft and review a wide variety of agreements, including “360” recording agreements, label deals, profit split deals, manufacturing and distribution agreements, soundtrack album agreements, and various types of licenses.
Liaise with other departments of the company to advise on rights issues and ensure compliance with contractual and legal obligations.
Review artwork, audio-visual materials and marketing materials to determine potential legal issues and assess the possible risks associated with their distribution; supervise clearance process.
Investigate and handle trademark and copyright issues.
Coordinate responses to claims and lawsuits with internal personnel and WMG counsel as necessary.
Review royalty statements of major artists and statements that are substantially payable to ensure accuracy.
Review mastering requests to ensure that releases have been cleared (or raise the issue of non-clearance with supervisor).

Education Required
Two to Three years of transactional music business experience or other related experienced preferred.
Must have J.D. and active license to practice law in New York
